Life is far less complicated than our 'authorities' want us to believe.
Life is simple, life isn't easy.
Happiness is simple but not, necessarily, easy.

Live the one life you have, fully.
No regrets, lots of mistakes, lots of happiness and joy.

You arrived on this planet with nothing, you cannot take anything with you. Harsh but fair fact.
Except for possibly knowing that others were inspired by you, and that you made their everyday somewhat better x

I'm getting closer to feeling as though I have settled in here and am being accepted. It's still a work in progress.

I have my fly fishing rod, and the use of a neighbour's river boat.
I have my two-wheels, and the empty roads to enjoy it.
I have two sharp wood axes, and not quite the same number of fingers and toes that God intended 😉
I have a sporadic lodger who earns his keep by doing occasional jobs around the place - far more valuable to me than cash in my bank.
I am beginning to slowly make friends with locals.
I wake up each morning and am bloody happy about where I wake up, and with whom.

Taynton Deleau is the best friend I have ever lived with.
That dog is totally truthful without even an ounce of judgement.
He teaches me much.

I looked at the world map on my wall this evening.

I counted, truthfully, the countries that I have been to, (not always with a valid visa!)
Airport transit connections are not counted as a valid visit.

My tally is 47.
More than I thought, less than I hoped for.

Travelling is much fun. It opens the eye of the heart.
Travelling is also lonely. It makes one question the reality and quality of what one calls home.

The real journey is within the heart and the mind.
All people travel a million miles on that journey.
No passport required...

How can you not love the Norwegians?

I'm not too bothered about who wins the quarter-final later this week on Saturday.
I just hope that whoever does win, lifts the trophy on the 19th July.

I do like living here.

This afternoon I lost my mobile phone that also held all my bank cards and ID cards in the holder.
Later, my dog went for an unauthorised walk.

A local farmer turned up at my door, in his tractor, to return my phone, et al intact, which I must have left on the roof of my car before driving 13km home from the supermarket, and complete strangers returned my dog to the front door.
None would take a glass of wine as gratitude but all would happily spend time chatting.

I live in a good place, amongst good people. I am lucky.
