Bit sluggish....trouble tacking?....could be time for a scrub!

They say the two happiest days of a sailors life are the day they buy their boat and the day they sell it...but maybe they didn't have days like these... the water is so clear and the wildlife beautiful - mid channel on a delivery trip.

Big job of unpacking the shed today...bringing out some projects blinking into the sunlight... Lillah, Veracity, My Lady plus Serendipity... oh and a 1957 Gardner 6lx for good measure... swallows happily fed the chick's all through the noise. Gaffer kept an eye on us from her pot.

Summer visitors...Happy to be watching the comings and goings in the boatshed. I remember when we followed these South one winter...heading to warmer places. Came back in the late spring with them too. We have a few nests this year and they are busy swooping out at terrific speed down to the river to feed. When the young ones fledge they line up on the electricity wires and boat rigging to learn to fly. Nice.

A few pictures of spring launches...better late than never!

It was good weather wise in the end despite a very wet start to the year. Somehow people managed to get paint on and ready their boats for the water.

The wet days will soon pass and we can all get on with having some fun on the water.

Last week was unbearably hot and this week...well less said the better. Something about plants and gardens...blah blah blah.

Fair winds. Calstock Boatyard.
