🌊 Good news for Canvey seafront lovers!…(when the weather brightens up again at least😅🌤️)
The first water quality test since Canvey Island Foreshore was officially granted bathing water status has come back with a very positive result.
This is exactly why local campaigners and I worked so hard to secure this designation. It means regular Environment Agency testing, published results, and a clearer picture of water quality for everyone to see.
There is still more monitoring to be completed before an official bathing water rating can be awarded, but this is a very encouraging start.
As the weather gets warmer and more people head to the coast, this gives residents and visitors extra confidence about enjoying Canvey's beach and seafront.
Well done again to everyone who spent years campaigning to get Canvey recognised. It is great news for the Island, our seafront and local businesses.
