Rupert is now a getaway car! 🤣

He took part in this elopement style shoot this week and as if it wasn’t special enough, at the end there was a real proposal! 💍

It was a really lovely day for all involved and such a special thing to be part of ♥️ we were so pleased to be able to get him involved!

The other suppliers are absolutely fantastic, look them up if you’re planning your big day 🫶🏻

So we have good news, and bad news…

The bad news - Rupert’s self-drive insurance runs out this month and we’ve decided not to renew it. Meaning he will no longer be available to rent out for overnight stays and trips away.

But the good news is he can still be hired for photo shoots, wedding transport and other day events.

After having him available to hire out for a year with no overnight bookings, it feels like the right way to go forward for us 😊

We’ll still share all his adventures here, so stay tuned!

We are so excited to get out in the van now we’re coming into springtime and the evenings are getting lighter 🥰

Why did we buy Rupert?

It all started when we had the most amazing trip booked with Airbnb, to stay in a converted lighthouse right on the beach.

We were super excited; so you can imagine how gutted we were when the host cancelled on us with just a few days notice.

Jamie said ‘see if we had a van, we could just go away whenever we wanted!’ And that’s where it all started.

I said if we were going to get a camper, it had to be a vintage VW. So the search began…

That in itself was an experience! And a very steep learning curve.

Because of the nature of my work, having 2 frenchies that are rubbish in the heat and a few other things, we were under no illusion that we wouldn’t be camping every weekend in the summer. And that’s where you come in 😊

Wohoooo! 🎉

As well as putting him on a few booking sites (which took forever, by the way! 😫) Rupert has his very own booking system!

You’ll see it below, it’s simple to use and also means you’ll pay the lowest security deposit and best rate for overnight stays or daily hire.

His current rate is £150 per night, but this WILL increase during the summer months, so the sooner you book, the more you save 👍🏻

We also wanted to have the added advantage that by booking direct you don’t have to pay until you come to collect him and there’s no cancellation fee should your plans change.
