An enjoyable 2.5 weeks in Ireland undertaking a wide range of Railway rolling stock movements.

Met some wonderful people, enjoyed some great food and seen some stunning scenery. The hotels weren't bad either!.

An interesting week in Ireland.

Two trips from Dublin North Wall to Downpatrick with former CIE engineers wagons and then two further trips from North Wall out to Maan Cross in West Galway with some more P.Way wagons.

Next week we are due to move two of these 1903 wooden bodied coaches, one to The RPSI at Whitehead and the second to Maan Cross.

The scenery out in Galway is absolutely stunning, as it is in all of Ireland.

Railway Support Services are currently looking to employ 2 mobile locomotive fitters to work on diesel/electric and industrial diesel/hydraulic locomotives.

Successful applicants will be required to travel to our main site at Wishaw, Sutton Coldfield as well as customers depots to work on RSS and customer owned locomotives. A full UK driving licence is required with no more than 3 penalty points.

The position includes provision of a company vehicle, company pension scheme, private medical insurance, and full PPE provision.

In order the create space in the workshop the former LMS diesel shunter No.7069 had to be removed and has now been placed in the rear yard.

Space is rather limited at Sharpness so it was a bit of a squeeze to align the trailer with the workshop doors.

We have recently undertaken a number of internal movements at the Vale of Berkley Trust at Sharpness. This has seen the LMS 4F locomotive 4027 move sideways so that an Austerity Wemys No.15 can be placed in the workshop.

The new inner firebox for No.15 has been assembled at the Flourmill and now awaits the fitting of stays.
