Restoration Scope & Specification
Hull (Mahogany, carvel planked on laminated Oak frames):
The hull is stripped of all skin fittings, stern gear and machinery back to bare hull and all necessary repairs made to ribs, frames, beams, and planking. Rudders and tubes are removed, cleaned, and inspected and rudder boxes replaced with new, machined solid Oak blocks. P-brackets, propellors, shafts and stern tubes are removed, cleaned, and inspected and refitted with new bearings and seals. New (composite) skin fittings are fitted.
Deck (Teak laid):
The deck was replaced in a partial restoration approximately 15 years ago, it is in very good condition and has been cleaned, lightly sanded, and thoroughly inspected. Transverse beams, beam shelves and half beams have been inspected and are in excellent condition. The deck to superstructure joint re-sealed & trimmed and new Teak strake fitted to deck edge. Cleats, rails & stanchions removed and repaired or replaced and Mahogany handrails remade. Hatches removed, serviced, and refitted. Ventilators removed, serviced, and refitted.
Superstructure (Mahogany):
The cabin sides (replaced in the prior restoration) have been machined to take reconditioned, reglazed, aluminium window frames. Curved window frames (saloon front, wheelhouse, and aft cabin) replaced with new, laminated Mahogany frames and fitted with correct curved glass in reconditioned aluminium frames. Wheelhouse side frames replaced with new Mahogany frames and fitted with correct glass. GRP cabin tops (saloon, wheelhouse, and aft cabin) restored and repainted.
Interior (Mahogony and Gaboon):
Aft cabin completely redesigned with a full-size double bunk (1200 x 1900mm – fits standard double mattress and bedding) fitted to starboard and new heads (with basin and shower) to port along with fitted storage (drawers, hanging and bag locker). New vanity unit with polished stainless-steel mirror at transom. Bunk head, side and deckhead trimmed with correct, fluted vinyl. Remote controlled LED lighting to cabin sides and vanity unit and 12V spotlights at bunk head. Shore power sockets under vanity unit. Space for flat-screen TV on bunk foot panel.
Fore cabin restored to Storebro original standard. V-berth with storage under, drawers to centre, hanging locker to port and small hanging locker to starboard. Bunk sides and deckhead trimmed with fluted vinyl. 12V spotlights at bunk heads. Access to anchor locker (chain is held in custom-designed GRP bucket with separate drainage) and optional anchor winch battery. Shore power sockets in hanging locker side.
Saloon restored and updated. L-shaped saloon seat (seats 5) to port with Mahogany table (can be lowered to convert to double berth) and space for cabin chair at head of table. Seat cushions contoured with rolled edge to the squabs (trimmed with fabric to buyer’s choice). Built-in 12V fridge with frozen food compartment (230V option) in locker to aft of saloon seat. Shore power sockets in bulkhead above fridge. Space for flat screen TV on aft bulkhead.
New design galley to starboard with 2-plate induction hob (230V) with extractor hood over, combination microwave / convection oven (230V), textured stainless-steel worktop and stainless-steel sink (black or silver). Storage (for jars, sink utensils, etc) to left and behind worktop and set of drawers (including fitted cutlery drawer and pull-out cutting board), pan locker, and general locker (with built-in waste bin) under worktop. Heads with basin. Shower and vanity unit to port, aft of the galley. 12V flushing toilet (using grey water from grey water tank and waste pumped to black water tank). Deckhead trimmed with fluted vinyl. Remote controlled LED lighting to both sides above windows and LED spotlights above galley.
Wheelhouse redesigned and updated with Holly and Teak decking and access to side decks via steps to both port and starboard. Side lockers for rope and fender storage. Helm console with instrument panel, motor controls and switch panel (for wipers, navigation lights, etc). Wood-rimmed steering wheel with hydraulic steering. Separate battery switch and 12V services (including circuit breakers) panels to the console side. Access to shore power distribution box via doors in the console front. Access to engine space via several removable hatches. Wheelhouse open to rear with fitted canvas hood (can be folded flat onto aft cabin roof). Open deck area allows plenty of space for seating and table, etc. Option for second galley in wheelhouse – with twin burner gas cooker, stainless steel sink and second fridge under. Helm console panel space for chart plotter / fish finder / sounder, etc according to buyer’s choice.
Holly and Teak flooring throughout saloon and cabins. Provision for slatted blinds according to buyer’s choice.
Fresh & wastewater tankage:
200 litres in rigid plastic tanks (under aft cabin berth) feeding basins and showers with cold water and hot water via calorifier fitted with 230V immersion heater and second coil for engine waste heating (dependant on buyer’s choice of propulsion system).
200 litres in a rigid plastic grey water tank (under saloon seating) taking waste from basins and showers and feeding the toilets with flushing water.
200 litres in a moulded GRP black water tank (under the forecabin V-berth) taking waste from toilets. Filtered and vented to the outside atmosphere with pump-out fitting. Optional divertor seacock allowing emptying at sea (where permitted).
Heating:
Option for diesel heater with wet, flan-assisted radiators (one in each cabin).
Shore Power, Battery chargers & Mains Inverter:
All internal shore power wiring to current house-build regulations (17th edition). Shore connection via 32A single-phase connector (16A adaptor supplied).
Separate shore power battery chargers for domestic 12V (two batteries). Full battery management system (BMS) and shore power charging system (electric propulsion).
Optional 12VDC/230VAC inverter to supply mains powered equipment in galley and cabins.
Navigation Equipment:
Helm console panel has space for chart plotter, sounder, etc according to buyer’s choice.
Propulsion - Zero emission
Full electric propulsion system (twin 100KW 120V motors with drives, controllers, battery management and charging system and a choice of battery capacities). Cost TBA.
