Our 2026 Steam Gala runs from 30 October to 1 November and stars GWR Saint 'Lady of Legend'. Day rover tickets are only £27 and we're running a packed timetable on our friendly country branch line in the Chiltern Hills.

Our charming 4-mile branch line is entirely run by volunteers. If you have some spare time, you'll be most welcome, whether bringing existing skills or looking to learn new ones. Lots of opportunities and a warm welcome guaranteed!

Huge thanks to Chinnor Open Gardens, who donated £882.60 to our railway, which will be used to install air conditioning and heating in the food preparation unit at Chinnor station.

Chinnor Open Gardens raises money for local causes via an ‘open garden’ weekend each year, and we are very grateful for their generosity. Our hard-working catering volunteers will be especially pleased, having coped with some very busy days during the current heatwave.

Following the heatwaves, the countryside is too dry for us to run steam trains, so here's a reminder of more temperate times. Back in 2021, visiting GWR 'Small Prairie' no 5526 climbs up to Chinnor from Wainhill with the first of public services after the COVID 'lockdown'.

From the archive is this unusual double-header passenger train, featuring BR Class 03 shunter 03 069 and ex-WD Class C3SA 'Iris' at Chinnor station. Our fleet of shunters are the unsung heroes of our railway, ready to step in at a moment's notice to keep train running.
