Behind the scenes, with our volunteers in the Carriage and Wagon Dept, who are busy restoring a Mk1 TSO coach and Southern Brake Van. They are also working on our fleet of Dogfish wagons, which are essential for ballasting our line. Message us if you'd be interested in joining the team . Everyone is welcome - this is very varied work, covering carpentry, upholstery, paintaing, glazing, electrics and much more besides.

One of the unsung heroes of our railway is this Track Relaying Machine, Built for British Rail by Plasser Theurer between 1977-80, it may only have a max speed of 5mph, but it significantly speeds up our track laying and was crucial in building the Independent Line from Princes Risborough to Thame Junction. This is one of the many amazing machines you can get involved with as a volunteer on our heritage railway.
