Brazil doesn’t follow a single rhythm. It shifts from city to rainforest, wetland to island, slow river journeys to pulse-quickening wildlife encounters.

That variety is part of its appeal, but it can also make knowing where to begin harder.

Whether you want to maximise time on safari, travel somewhere few others reach or plan a family trip that combines real adventure with time to unwind, our Specialists can shape Brazil around you.

Here are four ideas to get you started, each offering a different way into this vast and varied country. And if none feels quite right, we’ll help you find the rhythm that does.

In our third edition of Dispatches from the Field - Good Travel. Not For the Faint-Hearted. - we're asking: is poverty tourism a 'thing'? If so, does it have a place?

Inside, we begin in Australasia with Clare Wiggins, pairing a small-ship expedition through Australia, Papua New Guinea and Indonesia with Fiji’s private-island ease, then follow Charlotte Lawton’s quieter India route from Kanha’s sal forests to the mangrove waterways of Bhitarkanika.

We also head to Hwange National Park with Illona Cross, where a new treehouse stay brings elephants right up to your veranda, before rounding up this month’s bulletins and three reads filed by our team, from cycling the DMZ to an anti-poaching unit in action and the changing edge of the Brazilian Amazon.

In northern Hwange, Zimbabwe, this new privately guided trail takes you deep into some of the wildest and most remote landscapes in the park.

Set out on foot with experienced guides and trackers, learning to read prints in the sand, understand animal behaviour and notice the quieter details of the bush that can be missed from a vehicle.

It’s a rawer, slower way to experience the wild.

Over nine days, this journey combines time on foot in Hwange with iconic safari experiences, wilderness camps, time to unwind in characterful lodges and the chance to visit Victoria Falls.

For those who want to understand a landscape, not just pass through it, this is Zimbabwe seen differently.

After last night's Race Across the World finale, we wanted to look beyond the route seen on screen.

Central Asia isn't a region to rush through. It rewards those who slow down, leave room for the unexpected and venture beyond the better-known Silk Road cities.

Yes, Bukhara, Khiva and Samarkand deserve their place in the spotlight, but so do the quieter corners.

Often, the richest moments happen between the sights: an unplanned conversation, a shared meal, a workshop doorway left open, a local guide who shifts your understanding of a place.

And in Central Asia, a multi-country journey is always worth considering. Travelling across borders reveal the old routes once followed by traders, pilgrims and nomads, whilst showing just how distinct each country feels.

There's far more to Central Asia than meets the eye. Sometimes you just need to take the slower road to see it.

Speak to our Specialists to start planning your own journey through Central Asia.

64 tiger sightings. Three national parks. One remarkable safari.

Our recent India group tour with Paul Goldstein travelled through Bandhavgarh, Tadoba and Pench, bringing guests close to some of the finest tiger country in the world.

The sightings speak for themselves: 46 across Bandhavgarh and Tadoba, and 18 in Pench.

Of course, wildlife is never guaranteed. But with expert leadership, experienced guides and time spent in the right places, the rewards can be exceptional.

For most people travelling to Kenya, the Masai Mara is naturally the main event. And it’s true, little rivals it. But, to avoid the crowds, you need to know where to go.

Step beyond the reserve's masses into into Kenya’s pioneering private conservancies, where fewer vehicles, the best guides and greater flexibility create a richer, more exclusive safari.

Our Specialists know the camps worth staying in and, just as importantly, the places best avoided.

They can also suggest how to combine the Mara with coastline steeped in Swahili culture or with nearby neighbours, matching the journey to your pace so you experience far more than wildlife alone.

Bariloche is Argentina at its most picture-perfect. Alpine lakes, snow-capped peaks and scenery that would not feel out of place in Switzerland.

Yet Argentina has another side entirely.

For this edit, we journey north to high deserts, vast salt flats and remote landscapes shaped by centuries of Andean culture. Explore the canyons of Quebrada de las Conchas, watch flamingos gather on high-altitude lakes, and spend time on estancias where a way of life still influenced by gaucho traditions continues today.

It's Argentina at its most raw, remote and revealing.

If you'd like to see Argentina better, speak to Paul about our Deserts & Gauchos of Northwest Argentina itinerary.
