Who I am:
I have lived in Clevedon for 24 years, after previously growing up in Backwell, so I am very familiar with North Somerset and Bristol. My car is wheelchair accessible and I have full private hire and public liability insurance. I also have a current enhanced DBS, am a Dementia friend and am trained to give emergency first aid. My primary reason for starting this business is to help enabl

e people to get out about and enjoy life, and also to give family members peace of mind that their loved one is in safe hands. My premium service offer includes:
• Collecting each client from their door, making sure they have everything they need for the trip
• Giving help and support when required e.g. with shopping or mobility equipment
• Ensuring each client settled safely at home before leaving
• Providing companionship within the home or out and about
• Communicating with family and friends, sending invoices directly to them if required.
• Removing anxiety and stress, allowing people to live life to the full

Driving Miss Daisy helps with:
• Trips to the doctors, hospital, hairdresser, other appointments
• Organising and accompanying on social outings
• Shopping assistance as needed.
• Catering for clients with special requirements
• Delivering children to / from school and activities
• Companionship in the home

Clients we work with:
• Individual clients and their families; they become good brand advocates
• The care industry within a region. Care homes, retirement living places
• Fulfilling contracts for UK relationships developed with organisations, supporting their services and building on our brand reputation
• Social events for individuals and groups; e.g. weddings, outings and wish lists

It may be raining ☔️, but it's lovely and dry in the huge marquees 🎪.
There are loads of fabulous exhibits, professional entertainment, delicious refreshments and stalls to browse, so come on down to Salthouse fields and say 👋

I am looking for a self-employed companion assistant to travel alongside a vulnerable student as we drive them to and from school on a Tuesday and Wednesday during school term time.
Required hours starting from, and returning to, Clevedon will be 8.15am - 10.15am and 2.45pm - 4.45pm. Hourly rate negotiable, depending on experience.
No driving is required, but there is a requirement to pass an enhanced DBS check, and attend first aid and safeguarding training (funded by Driving Miss Daisy Clevedon).

Experience of working with children or vulnerable individuals is preferred. Must be a kind, caring and friendly personality with an ability to stay calm if the student experiences a seizure.

It's been a busy couple of week's so i've treated myself to an ice cream! 🍦

Recent trips with our lovely clients have included:
🌼A wedding in Oxford where I stayed throughout the day to support very proud grandparents
🌼A care home transfer from Isleworth, London to a new care home in Clevedon
🌼Taking a regular client to Bath for the day where we enjoyed a spot of shopping and afternoon tea in The Pump Rooms
🌼Provided assisted transport to every hospital in the area (BRI, Southmead, Weston, South Bristol, Eye, Dental, and Clevedon cottage!)
🌼Enabled an elderly couple to get away to Devon for a short break
🌼Accompanied a lovely lady to view a Shepherds hut in Usk
🌼Supported a lady to visit her husband in a care home in Taunton

All of this alongside helping our regular clients to get to hairdressers, hearing and optical appointments, or to do their shopping or just to get out and enjoy a coffee and chat!

"I never knew your service existed" - this is one of the most common things people say to us, when they spot our vehicles or find us online!

Here a few other things that you may not know about us:

🌼 We are a companion driving service, we are more than just a taxi.
🌼 We can accompany clients into their destinations, stay with them as a companion and take notes if in an appointment with them
🌼 We don't just do medical appointments, we love to take people on social trips or out with relatives
🌼 All our vehicles are wheelchair accessible and can accommodate powerchairs and electric scooters
🌼 All services can be pre-booked (unlike many taxi services), so you know your transport is secured
🌼 Not all our clients are disabled, many use our service as they enjoy our company, we are friendly and reliable
🌼 We are trained and fully insured to support our clients from their home and into their destination, including pushing wheelchairs, guiding those visually impaired, and aiding anyone a little unsteady on their feet
🌼 We are very familiar with local care homes and residential establishments, and often work with these organisations to transport their residents safely
🌼 A female companion driver can be asked for specifically
🌼 We don't just do local trips, we can go anywhere, and often take clients to holiday destinations
🌼 We are a franchise of Driving Miss Daisy UK, and can join up with other franchises to offer long journeys across any parts of the UK

This week's heatwave has been a challenge for most of us, particularly the most vulnerable people in our community.

The pressure on the NHS has been greater than normal, so when we were asked to help get a care home resident to hospital, as there were no ambulances available, we were quick to help.
The residents daughter left us this lovely review, we wish her Mum a speedy recovery 🥰
