It’s World Down Syndrome Day today 🌟

For those who don’t know, this is when the world celebrates the 3 copies of chromosome 21 that is unique to people with Down syndrome.

This means so much to us at LTS.

For years we have been partnered with DSUK - Positive About Down Syndrome, an incredible parent-led charity that is working hard to challenge outdated stereotypes and raise expectations for individuals with Down syndrome.

One of the most recent initiatives we worked on together was a Secondary Education Programme that would accelerate more inclusive support for children entering the secondary education system.

This started when Dave and Rachel from LTS and their daughter experienced the need for a programme like this first-hand.

We’re so proud to say that our fundraising efforts last year raised over £40,000 for this initiative. Thank you to all who supported the cause ❤️and we can’t wait to see the programme come into use very shortly.

🚚 Beep Beep! New trucks coming through!

We’ve just welcomed 8 new DAF Trucks UK units into our fleet. Every 3 years we replace our vehicles to make sure our customers and our drivers have the best delivery experience possible.

It means:

⭐ Our safety features are up to date, for everyone’s benefit on the road

🚛 Drivers are comfortable in new cabs (and they look great)

🌱 We improve our fuel efficiency and carbon footprint as a result!

Plus, the fleet is a snazzy new shade of blue – a nice change from the classic white cabs – and Thomas's Group even managed to find us LTS license plates!

You definitely won’t miss us on the roads now 🎉

🥳 Shout out to our terrible 2s 🚚

These folks have just reached their 2 year anniversary, and the sun has finally come out in celebration! (Well it did yesterday when I wrote this!)☀️

John P – a seasoned tramper who is getting ready for retirement. That just means more time for his motorcycle

Sue – a dog lover – or specifically, a Jack Russell lover – darts enthusiast, and football fan.

Trevor – always brings a cheeky sense of humour to work, so just make sure you’re not on the receiving end!

Dan H – our floater driver is always willing to lend a hand, but might bargain for more holiday days in return!

A huge shoutout to our tramper team 🌟

These lot are absolutely troopers, and we’re so happy to be celebrating 5 anniversaries this month 🎉

🪖Andy is ex-army and it shows – he's proactive, reliable and completes his FORS training off his own back.

⭐️ Karl always gets the job done without complaint. It’s not an easy thing for trampers!

💃 Paul loves the stage and a cheeky bit of Strictly – maybe we’ll get a live LTS show this year??

💚 Matt is one of the kindest souls out there, and you won’t miss him (or his wife) helping at our stand at Convoy Park!

🧑‍🧑‍🧒‍🧒 Salvador is our resident family man. His love for his kids is matched only by his generosity – although we're sure he regrets offering to buy all the LTS kids ice cream at Donington!

Kudos for all your efforts guys.

🎉 It’s Izzy’s 2-year anniversary today!

Our wonderful Fleet & Compliance Manager may have only been with us two years, but she’s been an incredible force.

She’s the reason we achieved Earned Recognition with the DVSA last year.

She’s ultra organised, always keeping us in check, and loves reading (s**t) when not on the job.

And she can even change a lightbulb on a truck! Probably while it’s moving!

What a legend 💪

🦸 Who is your ?

The fabulous Eugene is ours! Yesterday, he returned to Chilcote Primary School to show off his skills as an HGV driver and help the kids with their latest topic: people who help us.

It was such a fun day for everyone!

The kids had an absolutely blast honking the horn – but Mrs Cosgrove might have been even more enthusiastic than the pupils!!

The highlight of the day was seeing how curious the kids were about the role of drivers.

This year’s questions were particularly inspiring...

“Do you carry horses?”
“What is your truck called?”
“Can we call her dumper?”

As the first face our new employees see, Deb is a ray of joy in the LTS offices.

She’s our wonderful Environmental, Quality, Health & Safety Lead, so she’s always looking out for our team and making LTS the best possible place to work. 🌱

Deb doesn’t do things by halves...whether it’s becoming one of the first women ever to play professional football, or always dressing to impress on Christmas jumper day! 🎄

And – the biggest reason we all love her – she always has treats! 🍬
