We had a great time celebrating Bluebird K7 The Festival at Coniston Boating Centre last week and we wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone involved for their hard work. For those who joined us, we hope you had a great time seeing Bluebird K7 out on the water again for the first time since 1967.

From today, the Coniston Boating Centre car park will be open again and business will continue as usual.

We would like to say a massive thank you to our fantastic water safety team, led by Sally Cartwright and Jordan Aspin. Their professionalism, preparation, and calm expertise helped make the return of Bluebird to Coniston Water safe and successful for everyone involved.

Sal & Jordan have first hand knowledge of Bluebird K7 being original members of the Bluebird Project and a part of the water safety team who put Bluebird K7 on the water in 2018 on Loch Fad. Along with Fiona, Ronnie, Paul, Jeff and Neil, Ches and the Osprey Team, Ian and his team from Apex Diving and Marine, as well as James and team from Lancashire Police and the North West Police Underwater Search and Marine Unit, and the guys from Swim Safety.

With thousands attending both on and around the water, their work is absolutely essential and greatly appreciated. Their commitment behind the scenes allowed people to enjoy such a historic occasion with confidence and security.

A reminder that Bluebird K7 The Festival will be taking place at Coniston Boating Centre from Monday 11 to Sunday 17 May. During the event, parking will be available in the official signposted fields on Lake Road, LA21 8EW.

Boat hire will not be available during the event. Any storage customers wishing to access their boats in the yard must contact the centre prior to the event.

We are open for hire on the 8th, 9th,10th and 18th of May. During this time, the Coniston Boating Centre car park will be closed. Parking will be available in the official signposted field on Lake Road, LA21 8EW.

To guarantee a parking space for this popular event, visit the Bluebird K7 website. Please make sure you plan ahead and be prepared so you can enjoy a great day out with family and friends.
