Welcome to Coniston Boating Centre. Have fun on and off the water with a range of boats and bikes

From the shores of England's loveliest lake, you can hire motor boats, rowing boats, canoes and sailing boats. There are also bikes including electric ones!
*HIRE TIMES- (Summer) Open 7 days a week 10am till 5pm. Last Hire at 4pm*
We are a not-for-profit attraction run by the Lake District National Park Authority. All profits go towards keeping it special for future generations.

Although sunny days in the Lake District haven't quite finished, it's important to remember that Coniston Water can still be very cold. If you are spending time in the water, remember to:

-Ease yourself into the water slowly
-Wear a wetsuit to help keep warm
-Use a flotation device to help with staying safe and being visible
-Pack hot drinks and food to have after you get out

Taking out a paddleboard in the Lake District tomorrow? Make sure you know these paddleboarding tips before you head out so you can enjoy our waters safely.

-Always wear a buoyancy aid when on the water
-Wind direction can change suddenly, be prepared, it can make paddling much harder
-Wear a leash or a strap to stop your paddleboard from floating away
-Look out for large boats turning, they need plenty of room!
-Always pass two ferry lengths to the rear of the car ferry
-Canoe, kayak and paddleboard with someone else, or hire a guide
-Staying close to shore is a good way to ensure you don’t get into trouble

Here's your reminder to know how to this . Our waters are pretty chilly, even in hot weather, increasing the risk of cold water shock.

If you experience any difficulty in the water, remember these 5 steps to Float To Live:

-Tilt your head back, submerging your ears
-Relax and control your breathing
-Move your hands and legs to help you stay afloat
-Your legs may sink, and that's OK
-Find you float by practising at a supervised location
