Today we sadly say a last goodbye to one of the Elddis legends - George (Geordie) Collis - The Jarrow Jump Jet. Geordie worked for many years as a tramper before joining the team in the office as a planner before his well earned retirement. He seems to have been Camera shy a he has avoided being on any of the photos in our archive, if anyone has any please feel free to add them to the comments. One of life's true characters. Our thoughts are with Ann and his family at this very sad time.

A very old photo of the Elddis Delves Lane Head Quarters when it was still fields. Best estimate was this was taken mid to late 1960's. The houses on the left and the old fire station still stand. The allotments, bakery and terrace of houses on the right are long gone.

This week we our distribution fleet was joined by 3 LF DAF 18t rigids. You may notice a few changes in the livery. We are working on a refresh and have tried a few tweeks on these vehicles, while hopefully still keeping the Elddis brand image.

Massive congratulations to one of our 4on 4 off traffic planners Louie Dance, who completed a charity challenge early last Saturday morning. He climbed the 3 highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales (Ben Nevis, Scarfel Pike and Snowdon), all in under 24 hours. 22hours and 16 minutes to be precise.

Louie is raising money for MacMillan Cancer Support in memory of his dad, who lost his battle to cancer on 2004

This week we said goodbye to Keith Bridge who has retired after 25 years with Elddis. A big thanks to Keith for his loyal service and we all hope he has a long and happy retirement.

A very special day at Elddis, our founder Geoff Cook celebrated his 90th Birthday with a visit to the office today.

Born into a transport family on 7th July 1936, he spent his entire working life in Transport, even after retirement he was still calling into the office everyday until early last year.

He may tell everyone he is past his sell by date, but he is doing amazing for his age. Happy Birthday Boss
