Introducing The Chairman’s Train – Britain’s most private luxury rail experience.

Unveiled at London Euston earlier this week, it’s the UK’s first fully private heritage train available for exclusive hire. Pulled by classic steam, electric and diesel locomotives, it offers a unique way to travel in comfort and style.

The first journeys begin this July with a five-day West Highland Experience, followed by another departure in August.

From 2027, The Chairman’s Train will also offer fully bespoke private charters across the UK.

🔥 We’re Hiring! Welder / Fabricator / Fitter – LNWR Heritage

LNWR Heritage is expanding, and we’re looking for an experienced welder/fabricator/fitter to join our carriage repair and overhaul team. Rail experience is a bonus, but not essential — enthusiasm and motivation matter most.

🔧 The Role

You’ll work across all aspects of rolling stock repair, carrying out welding, fabrication, and some fitting work. Training will be provided where needed.

🛠 We’re Looking For

Recognised apprenticeship
Experience in welding & fabrication
Some fitting experience
Ability to work independently to a high standard

Full UK driving licence

Dual‑role capability (preferred)

🚂 We’re Hiring!

Locomotive Services is expanding and we’re looking for motivated engineers to join our carriage maintenance team. Rail experience is great but not essential — enthusiasm and a strong work ethic matter most.

🔧 The Role

You’ll carry out inspections, maintenance, fault‑finding, and repairs on our fleet, working across mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems. Electrical experience is a bonus, and training is provided.

🛠 What You’ll Do

Inspect and maintain railway carriages
Diagnose and repair faults
Keep accurate maintenance records
Support flexible hours and occasional call‑outs
Work with other teams to keep our fleet service‑ready

💡 What We’re Looking For

Engineering or mechanical fitting experience
Ability to read technical drawings
Confident using workshop tools
Electrical skills or rail experience are a plus

🌟 Personal Qualities

Safety‑focused, organised, a team player, and flexible when needed.

💼 Full‑time, Permanent
💷 £29,393 – £35,272 per year

We’re incredibly proud to share an update on Anthony Walker, our dedicated joiner in the LNWRH Coach Department, following his fantastic achievement at the Manchester Marathon! 🏅

Anthony successfully completed the marathon in an impressive time of 4 hours and 15 minutes — an incredible accomplishment and a true testament to his dedication and determination.

Thanks to the generosity and support of so many people, Anthony has raised an amazing £720 for Cancer Research UK. This is a cause that means so much to him, and every donation helps make a real difference in the fight against cancer.

We’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who supported Anthony, whether by donating, sharing his fundraiser, or cheering him on along the way 💙
