I often hear people say, “I bet you squirrel some of that money away from the taxman!”

The truth is, I believe in being upfront and doing things properly. The moment you're not is the moment people start talking and trouble follows.

So, I asked ChatGPT to go through our bank statements from 17th April and calculate our airport parking costs.

The results genuinely blew me away!

✈️ Leeds Bradford – 23
✈️ Teesside – 19
✈️ Manchester – 11
✈️ Edinburgh – 1

💷 183 parking transactions costing £1,081.50!

Over £1,000 just to enter airports, often for less than five minutes to collect a customer! That's before fuel, insurance, wages and vehicle maintenance.

The government really needs to look at these charges because they're getting out of hand.

✈️ NO AI TODAY! THE ROLES HAVE REVERSED – IT’S MY TURN TO HIT THE RUNWAY! ☀️

The team is primed, every job is going ahead, and I’m officially switching off for a week!

But first, something needs saying.

When you build a business, nobody cares. When you build a reputation and start raising standards, suddenly you’re a threat.

People like me and Jordan work hard, support our communities and want to leave a positive legacy. Unfortunately, some people would rather try to bring others down than raise their own standards.

Negative reports and complaints can damage reputations and cost hardworking businesses opportunities, including places at local events.

Jordan and Gwenny’s Ice’s deserve support, not obstacles.

So I’m asking my followers to get behind him! Show Gwennys ices some love, tag the council in his posts or email them to say you’d like to see Gwennys at upcoming local events.

Bullying, harassment and attempts to damage people’s livelihoods should NEVER win.

🚕 DARLINGTON TO GATWICK – A PASSPORT EMERGENCY! ✈️

Just settling down to go to bed when the phone rings.

On the other end was an older lady, clearly panicked and stressed. She was down at Gatwick Airport, due to be there for 6am, and had realised she’d left her passport all the way up here!

Everyone she’d tried either didn’t answer, couldn’t do it, or had reviews that didn’t exactly fill her with confidence.

Her options were running out, and well, we couldn’t say no, could we?

Within 20 minutes we’d secured her passport and were on our way to Gatwick!

Pre-payment wasn’t going through for one reason or another, but time was critical. We couldn’t stand around messing about when this lady was relying on us.

When we finally arrived, the poor lady was so stressed and panicked by the whole situation that she’d forgotten her card PINs. It took another 45 minutes, plenty of patience and a bit of reassurance, but we got there in the end!

The hotel staff were over the moon, and the lady was so relieved and ever so thankful.

Now, here’s something else.

For the first time in my 9-year career, I pulled into a motorway service station this morning, found myself a nice quiet corner, parked up and went to sleep.

These long drives really do take it out of you, and sometimes you’ve just got to know when to stop.

But the important thing?

That lady got her passport, and she can get on her way! ❤️

Not every decision we make at Harry’s Taxi is based on what makes the most business sense. Sometimes somebody just needs help, and if we’re in a position to do something about it, we will.

That’s the way we’ve always operated, and that’s the way we’ll continue.

But what people don't always see is everything that happens behind the scenes. The early starts, the late finishes, the phone calls, the last-minute changes and the little things we do to make sure someone gets where they need to be.

Not everything we do makes it onto Facebook, and not every act of kindness gets a review. Sometimes it's just about doing the right thing when nobody is watching.
