Solo travel for women…safe & easy countries to start with.

If you’ve been thinking about your first solo trip and don’t know where to start, this one’s for you.

Safety and ease matters but so does feeling genuinely welcomed. These five countries consistently deliver both.

Ghana 🇬🇭
Warm, and one of the most welcoming countries. Ghana wraps you in community from the moment you land. For women of the diaspora especially, it’s more than a holiday. It’s a homecoming.

Singapore 🇸🇬
Spotless, safe, and so easy to navigate it almost does the work for you. World class food, a melting pot of cultures, and streets you can walk alone at night without a second thought.

Portugal 🇵🇹
Very safe with warm locals, walkable cities, and an African diaspora community in Lisbon that makes women of colour feel genuinely at home. Affordable, beautiful, and endlessly welcoming.

Ireland 🇮🇪
English speaking, famously friendly, and the kind of place where a stranger becomes a friend over one conversation. Solo travel here rarely feels solo for long.

Iceland 🇮🇸
Extremely safe, dramatic landscapes, and a culture where solo women travellers are completely unremarkable. In the best possible way of course!

Where are you starting? Or message me and I’ll help you plan it properly.

Controversial things I do as a travel advisor….

I turn away clients.
I steer you away from trends.
I don’t chase flash sales.
And if I wouldn’t buy into it myself, I won’t sell it to you.

Because designing trips that are authentic, intentional, and actually right for you matters more to me than the booking.

Bring the same energy and we’ll get on just fine. 🥂

You have plans this summer…

Travelling, lounging and sleeping somewhere pretty 🤩

Planning a trip with activities? Read this first.

Not every trip needs an itinerary.

A short city break, a quiet weekend away, you’ll be fine without one.

But if you’re covering multiple regions and experiences? The flow matters more than almost anything else. More than the hotel. More than the flights.
This is where most trips fall apart.

THE MISTAKE: trying to cover too much!!
❗️What looks like a dream route on paper becomes long transfers, constant packing, and arriving everywhere just long enough to leave. 🥴
❗️What looks close on a map can take hours to reach.

Costa Rica, East Africa, Southeast Asia….catches people out every time.

WHAT WORKS
• 2 regions max. 3 if you have real time.
• Think in zones, not checklists.
• 3–4 nights per base (one night is just transit with a bed).
• One slow day for every busy one.

Accept you won’t see everything. Experience over coverage. Always!!

The difference between exhausting and restorative isn’t the destination. It’s the planning.

Save this or send me your dates. I’ll help you get the flow right.

Costa Rica, done properly.

If you’re planning Costa Rica and want something that feels, immersive, and genuinely easy…this is the kind of itinerary that actually works.

One base. Northern rainforest. Arenal Volcano on the horizon.

Nayara Tented Camp keeps everything within reach. With its private jungle villas, natural hot spring plunge pools, volcano views, and wildlife that doesn’t require a single extra transfer.

Here’s what 5–7 days can look like:

• Day 1: Arrive in La Fortuna. Check in. Do the bare minimum. That’s the brief.

• Day 2: Arenal Volcano National Park. Back for thermal springs and a sunset you won’t forget.

• Day 3: La Fortuna Waterfall at first light. Optional wildlife safari float in the afternoon.

• Day 4: Mistico Arenal Hanging Bridges. Afternoon at leisure (spa, yoga…) or simply nothing.

• Days 5–7: Slow. Unwind. Switch off. Actually enjoy the space you’ve paid for.

One base. No constant packing and unpacking. No rushing between regions.

This is Costa Rica done properly.

Most people don’t plan it this way and that’s exactly where trips start to feel rushed and disjointed. Like you saw a lot without actually experiencing anything. 🥴
I’ll break that down in the next post.

Save this for later or message me if you’re starting to plan. I’ll help you get the flow right.

Why you should use a Travel Advisor

Here's the honest truth about AI and travel planning.

It's fast. It's impressive. And it'll hand you a perfectly logical itinerary that could belong to absolutely anyone!

What it won't do is know that you hate noisy hotel bars. That you'd rather a slow breakfast than a packed schedule. That the room actually needs to be quiet and you’d like breakfast and newspaper delivery in bed in the morning or that when your transfer doesn't show up at 11pm in an unfamiliar city, you need a real person to help not a chatbot.

That's where I come in.

I plan travel that is tailored to you and your preferences. With access to properties and hosts that are vetted , full ABTA & ATOL protection, hotels that I scrutinise on your behalf, and someone genuinely in your corner from the moment you enquire to the moment you're home.

No stress. Just travel worth taking because it has been curated for YOU!

If you are planning a getaway abroad or a staycation send me a message to start the conversation.

The Peak District is always a good idea.

Some places don’t just look beautiful. They make you slow down and actually breathe.

The Peak District is that place.

Vast moorland that stretches as far as you can see. Villages that haven’t changed in generations.

This place offer the kind of walking that clears your head in a way nothing else quite manages.
Even the water tastes differently here!

I source properties that are genuinely vetted, and not just beautiful in photos. So you know exactly what you’re arriving to.

No stress. Just the Peak District done properly.
