We are a small canal narrowboat holiday hire business established in 1986, offering great value holidays on sensibly appointed boats without all the bells and whistles that make canal holidays expensive. We have five handsome, green narrowboats - including one dayhire boat - available from early March to end November for weekend, short break or weekly hire on the Kennet and Avon Canal. We only hi

re our boats eastwards from Devizes as we feel that there are plenty of hire companies already at the western end of the Kennet & Avon Canal so we don’t wish to add to any congestion down that way. We don’t therefore allow our boats to descend the 29 Caen Hill Locks directly to the west of Devizes, but it’s a lovely stroll to watch others doing the hard work! Our dayboats at Devizes Wharf are booking fast this year. We understand why! Whether you fancy a taster day afloat, a trip to a local pub, or a memorable picnic outing, they are ideal. There's a little kitchen and plenty of seating with a canopy for protection from rain or sun, and no locks to negotiate on the long pound between Devizes and Wooton Rivers. 🌞

The boats accommodate up to ten people and you're welcome to bring your pets, making it an affordable solution for a day's fun on board. 🐕🐾🐾🐾🦢

Our friendly team will give you all the tuition you need, so you don't need to worry if it's your first time boating. 🦆🦆🦆

Dayboats are a wonderful introduction to boating on the canal and a wonderful way to spend a lazy day. Bring a picnic (there's a basic galley and look on board) or tie in with a pub visit, and up to ten people can have a day afloat- dogs welcome too! We love spending part of the day walking on the towpath and swopping over at bridges. The boats cruise at walking pace, so it's a happy way to take a day in the slow lane.
If the weather is hot or wet, you're still - literally- covered, as the boats have both indoor space and a covered deck outdoors.

Please excuse that it's a holiday boat rather than a day boat in the video (we REALLY need to take more photos;do share some if you've taken one of our day boats out!) but we wanted to give you a heads up that our day hire boats are booking VERY quickly this year! If you want to take a boat out for a slow living day, pub lunch, or special celebration, we recommend that you get your date booked in early 🌞🦢🦆
Each boat accommodates up to ten people. If you have more in your party then some could walk and take it in turns. Dogs are welcome, there's a basic galley on board, and undercover outdoor space as well as indoor, so no worries if it's crazy hot or wet... who knows?! 🤷‍♂️😁🐕

Remember, dogs are welcome on our holiday and day boats. The boats cruise at walking pace, so a real joy is walking the pups alongside, enjoying the towpath and the people you meet.
