meet Rogier and his crew! five of them, over from the Netherlands for this crossing. five bikes, none of them matching. a folding bike, a rusty steel frame, a city hire bike, a racer, a town bike that half works. because the bike is never the point. having one with you is

here's the thing. their return leg was already cancelled before they even left. Strong winds forecast for monday, and when the wind says no, we don't go. Rogier knew. they came anyway, a ferry home as backup. not the way they wanted to get back, but the only option left

They left Boulogne in pouring rain and arrived in Dover under full sun. we had asked them to be ready an hour earlier than planned. they were, bikes and all, smiles on, on time

We've been in touch with Rogier and the group all the way through, and honestly it's people like them who make a crossing what it is. a cancelled return, a rain-soaked start, an early call, and not once did the mood drop

NO WAY. YOU MADE IT 😭😭

sold out. every single seat, gone. we are genuinely sitting here in disbelief

Seven days, five crossings, sixty seats between Shoreham and Fécamp. and real talk, when we opened the Sussex Normandy pilot we had NO idea if anyone would come. then you did. all of you. we can't stop reading the names!!

and none of this would exist without the people who did everything, from the very first day, to make this pilot possible: Shoreham Port , the Syndicat Mixte des Ports de Seine-Maritime, the Département de Seine-Maritime, and the border teams on both sides, PAF and Border Force. thank you, from the bottom of our hearts 🙏

and to every single one of you who booked a seat: you didn't just buy a ticket. you stood up and said out loud that you want this to be our future, our reality of tomorrow, together. a human adventure, from the very beginning

because this is so much bigger than a crossing. it's for our kids. for the world we hand them. for the way we'll travel tomorrow. more adventure, more meaning, more real moments. less, but better

we're a little teary writing this, not gonna lie. this is the thing we dreamed about, and YOU made it real. actual humans, together 🫂

and this is only the beginning?

🚨 The schedule is here 🚨

Five crossings between 8 and 13 September, sailing between Shoreham Port and Fécamp Tourisme aboard Mer Agitée, a catamaran built with racing-boat technology and materials, most of its parts reused from racing boats. Operated by SailLink, skippered by Michel Desjoyeaux.

Straight across the Channel. 12 seats per crossing.

12 Sep · Fécamp → Shoreham
13 Sep · Shoreham → Fécamp

A note on times: departure times are set, arrival always depends on wind and conditions of the day. Times are local to each port (UK and France differ by 1 hour). This is a test phase, so the schedule may still adjust.

We just added two more crossings this week. Earlier ones from the UK were already full, so these opened up when the planning and weather lined up

Friday 31 July, Dover to Boulogne, 17:00. That one means sunset on board

Saturday 1 August, Boulogne to Dover, 12:45

Twelve seats, bikes come inside the boat, marina to marina. Wind and tide only

For two years our sailing ferry has connected Dover and Boulogne.

This September, a new pilot phase is taking place. Shoreham-by-Sea in Sussex and Fécamp in Normandy 🤯

Same idea, new coast. Wind do the work, town central marinas to town central marinas. Passport control at the pontoon. Your bike travels inside, safe from the salt 🚲

It is a pilot aboard Mer Agitée, the catamaran of and skippered by Michel Desjoyeaux, double Vendée Globe winner. Few crossings, twelve seats each. Small on purpose, because a new line has to be proven before it is considered.

We hope to see you there, ready to live this one of a kind adventure that may happen only once 🔥

Our friends over at SailLink have seen demand increase massively for their sailboat crossing of the Channel. "Hundreds of you have already crossed this season. 600 have booked. That's more than the whole of last year, and we doubled our crossings to make room. The demand is real. People want this way of travelling to exist."
