Samhuinn Fire Festival last night marked the transition from Summer to Winter with their characteristic mix of fire-play, drumming, and immersive performances.

It is a modern re-imagining of an ancient Celtic festival, marking the darkened end of summer and upcoming rise of winter. The story follows the overthrowing of Summer by Winter, with a dramatic stand-off between the Summer and Winter Kings. This is overseen by the Cailleach, a Celtic representation of the Goddess, or Divine Hag, who ultimately decides each King’s fate and ushers in the looming, colder months.

To celebrate the end of the Giraffe About Town trail, the full herd was reunited at the Edinburgh Zoo. This was the only opportunity to see the whole tower of 42 large giraffes and 30 wee giraffes in one place!

The Holyrood Abbey through the keyhole of the Palace's front gate. ⛪️

Holyrood Abbey is a ruined abbey of the Canons Regular in Edinburgh, Scotland. The abbey was founded in 1128.
Due to access restrictions in place as a precautionary measure while high level masonry inspections is undertaken, there is currently no visitor access to the abbey.

We had the incredible honour to be invited to see last night's show of The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo, titled 'Voices'.
And. What. A. Night!
All performances were amazing and extraordinary!
Hats off for all the people involved, from the musicians, the chorus, through the dancers, till the light and sound technicians.
Their hard work all contributed to the success of this jaw dropping, awe-inspiring event.
