Hello Cambridge!

We are delighted to have installed this beautiful, colourful and eye catching experiential placemaking display on Green Street. A huge thank you to Cambridge BID for sharing the video, it really brings it to life. Not only does it look fantastic to encourage shoppers, it also provides a cool background for TikTok videos and shade to keep people comfortable during the warm summer months.

We’re back with our Meet the Team series, and this time we’re introducing Daniel Acford, Deputy Regional Director for Bristol.

Time with F&L: 4 years

Branch: Bristol

Where did you grow up? Bristol!

First Job? I worked in a garden shop

Dan brings over 20 years of invaluable project management experience within the temporary structure industry. Over the years, he has managed a broad range of events from large-scale festivals and shows to intricate graduations, awards ceremonies. Dan has also managed a number of temporary building installations, alongside our specialist team F&L Temporary Buildings, gaining a complete understanding of our diverse sectors. Dan currently supports our Regional Director Gary Ferguson in the day-to-day operations of the branch while nurturing and supporting the wider team, sharing his vast experience and cross sector knowledge.

Outside of work, he can be found spending time with his family and friends, eating out and keeping up with a range of sports, particularly his local rugby team, Bristol Bears. He also enjoys the outdoors, trying new foods and testing recipes in the kitchen, and getting stuck into a film or book.

Ian joined Field and Lawn back in 2017 and has risen through the ranks to be one of our specialist Senior Project Managers. Over the years, he has been part of some incredible placemaking and festive lighting projects, for a number of high-profile shopping centres across the south of the UK.

His expertise and keen attention to detail has helped us to grow and develop our commercial Christmas lighting offer thanks to the strong relationships he has built and his exceptional attention to detail. Outside of work, Ian is big football fan and a passionate Arsenal supporter!

Spring has officially sprung, so we're celebrating the season with a look back at our blooming lovely placemaking installation in Cambridge last year! 🌷

The 'Sky Garden' project was created in collaboration with Cambridge BID and saw Green Street transformed into a floral paradise, with hundreds of hanging flowers suspended across the high street to create a breathtaking canopy.
