Good Luck, Tartan Army!

Scotland returns to the FIFA World Cup for the first time in 28 years.

⚽ Scotland are appearing at the FIFA World Cup for the first time since 1998, ending a 28-year wait for the Tartan Army.

⚽ Scotland have qualified for the World Cup nine times, with a remarkable run of five consecutive tournaments between 1974 and 1990.

⚽ Scotland’s most famous World Cup moment came in 1978 when they defeated the Netherlands 3-2, with Archie Gemmill scoring one of the greatest goals in World Cup history.

⚽ The Tartan Army is widely regarded as one of the most respected and colourful travelling fan groups in world football.

A beautiful day in St Andrews as guests from Los Angeles enjoyed the experience of playing the world-famous Old Course. Conditions couldn’t have been better for a memorable round in the Home of Golf.

A pleasure to work alongside Doug Clement in helping visitors experience the very best of Scotland.

While welcoming clients who were arriving to enjoy a round of golf, we were treated to an unexpected sight as a helicopter made its approach into the grounds of Trump Turnberry.

Set against the stunning Ayrshire coastline and the world-famous golf courses, it certainly added a little extra theatre to the day.

One of the great things about travelling around Scotland is that no two days are ever quite the same.

The East Neuk of Fife is one of Scotland’s most picturesque coastal regions, famous for its charming fishing villages, stunning sea views, historic harbours and excellent seafood. Visitors often ask how much time they should allow to explore this beautiful corner of Scotland, and the answer depends on how much you want to see.

For those with limited time, a half-day tour of around 4 to 5 hours can provide a taste of the East Neuk. This allows time to visit several of the area’s best-known villages, including Anstruther, Pittenweem and Crail, with opportunities to stroll around the harbours, browse local shops and enjoy the coastal scenery.

However, to truly appreciate the region, I would recommend allowing at least 6 to 8 hours. This provides a more relaxed pace and the chance to explore additional villages such as Elie and St Monans, stop for lunch at one of the excellent local seafood restaurants, and take in some of the area’s fascinating history and coastal walks.

Many visitors combine the East Neuk with nearby St Andrews, creating a full-day itinerary that showcases both Scotland’s world-famous home of golf and some of the country’s most beautiful fishing villages. Along the way, you’ll discover historic churches, working harbours, sandy beaches and spectacular views across the Firth of Forth.

The beauty of the East Neuk lies not only in its scenery but also in its atmosphere. Taking the time to wander the narrow streets, chat with local residents and enjoy the slower pace of life is what makes a visit truly memorable.

Whether you have a few hours or an entire day, the East Neuk of Fife offers an authentic Scottish experience that remains one of the country’s hidden gems.

Edinburgh’s Hidden Doors: The Former SCA Packaging Factory

Edinburgh is a city that constantly reinvents itself, and few places demonstrate this better than the former SCA Packaging Factory at Maybury.

Once a busy industrial site producing paper and cardboard packaging, the vast factory played an important role in Edinburgh’s manufacturing history. Following its closure, the buildings stood largely unused before being transformed by Hidden Door, Edinburgh’s innovative arts organisation.

Today, the former factory has become one of the city’s most unique cultural spaces, hosting art installations, live music, performances and community events. Its industrial character remains intact, creating a fascinating contrast between the site’s manufacturing past and creative present.

For visitors looking beyond Edinburgh’s famous landmarks, the former SCA factory offers a glimpse into how the city continues to preserve its heritage while embracing new ideas. It is a reminder that some of Edinburgh’s most interesting stories can still be found behind hidden doors.

Musselburgh Links is one of the oldest golf courses in the world and remains one of Scotland’s most remarkable golfing experiences.

Today, it was a pleasure to welcome visitors from Nevada who chose to step back in time and play the course using traditional hickory clubs, experiencing the game much as it was played generations ago.

Combining world-class golf, rich history, and authentic Scottish heritage, Musselburgh Links continues to attract golfers from across the globe seeking something truly unique.
