Just over a week ago, we had the privilege of presenting the Overall Student of the Year award at the University of Exeter Employment Awards to Ella Kelynack.
It’s always a pleasure to be involved in these awards, thoughtfully organised by University of Exeter and the team led by Andrea Hodges and Rebecca Lenthall. The event consistently highlights the talent, drive, and ambition of students who are very much the CEOs and leaders of the future.
As a sponsor, we were also given a few moments on stage to share some thoughts. We used the opportunity to encourage businesses in the room to seriously consider offering degree apprenticeships.
Having seen the impact first-hand through our own family experience, we’ve seen how powerful this route can be for students: no tuition fees, no student debt, and a guaranteed job at the end. It allows students to focus fully on their studies and development without the burden of financial pressure.
From a business perspective, the case is equally compelling. Organisations are constantly seeking skilled graduates - so why not invest in developing your own?
