Red Bridge Removal and Path Closure

From Monday 15th June 2026

Eyemouth Harbour Trust will temporarily remove the Red Bridge to undertake essential repairs and refurbishment works after routine maintenance identified a failure in the bridge’s hydraulic system. To support a resilient long-term solution, the Trust is currently scheduled to remove the bridge on Monday 15 June 2026, subject to weather and final operational arrangements.

Pedestrians are advised to follow the marked diversion routes. Full details of the path closure and maps of the diversion will be available when the closure is in place here on Scottish Borders Council website - https://www.scotborders.gov.uk/downloads/download/357/path-closures

Welcoming Alistair Easingwood to Eyemouth Marine!

We’re pleased to welcome Alistair Easingwood to the team as an Electrical Engineer. ⚡

Alistair brings over 15 years of experience across domestic, industrial, and marine electrical systems.

Since joining the yard, Alistair has already carried out full electrical diagnostics and rewires on two yachts, as well as electrical fault finding on commercial vessels in Eyemouth Harbour, supporting safe, reliable, and compliant onboard systems. 💪

Alongside his work with Eyemouth Marine, Alistair is also a member of the St Abbs Independent Lifeboat, bringing valuable real-world marine experience and practical understanding of working in demanding conditions.

His problem-solving approach, hands-on experience, and willingness to take on new challenges make him a strong addition to the team.

To get ahead of any rumours, Eyemouth Marine would like to confirm that we had nothing to do with the recent KitKat heist. Our remote service vehicle was definitely NOT on the E35 between Italy and Poland this week.

In other, completely unrelated news, our tea breaks are sorted for the foreseeable.
