Due to continued growth, we are recruiting additional LGV C+E (Class 1) Tramper drivers to join Multi drop Chipliner team.

This role involves working away from home Monday to Friday delivering bulk and timber products throughout the UK.

Requirements:
-Full UK driving licence with LGV C+E category (Class 1).
-Minimum 12 months LGV C+E class one driving experience preferred.
-Maximum of 6 penalty points.
-Valid DCPC & digital tachograph driver card.
-Sound geographical knowledge and understanding of UK EU LGV driver’s hours rules.
-Experience of multi-drop / timber haulage is preferred although not essential as full training is provided.

Please note, our trailer gantry and fall arrest systems have a 22 stone maximum weight limit.

Traffic maybe busy in the village over the next few weeks due to the temporary closure of Avon Gorge

Road closure - Avon Gorge 19 August
West Lothian Council will be undertaking carriageway resurfacing works on the A801/A706 (Avon Gorge). The works are being brought forward and will now begin on 19 August for a period of up to two weeks.

Due to the nature of the works and the location, a road closure will be in place to facilitate the construction works. (Local access will be maintained at all times). A diversion route will also be in place.
The works will consist of lifting the existing surface and replacing it with a new close graded asphalt concrete surface as well as resetting or replacing any defective ironwork and the installation of new high friction surfacing.

The diversion route is based on HGV movements and therefore the official diversion route. We appreciate that people who know the area will use alternatives on lower classification roads.

Works are also taking place on Boghead Roundabout. This was initially scheduled for the same time as the works at Avon Gorge. However to avoid placing too much stress on other route, the Avon Gorge works have been brought forward.

Please also note that works were recently being carried out to repair potholes on the B792 which is located near the Avon Gorge. This is the short length of road that connects the A801 and the A706 close to the Avon Gorge. These works have been completed. This road couldn’t be repaired whilst the Avon Gorge was closed as it wouldn’t have been possible to have both sections with traffic restrictions at the same time. Whilst they are close to each other, doing them at the same time would cut off another alternative route people may choose to use whilst the Avon Gorge is closed.
