FCL OR LCL? WHICH ONE IS RIGHT FOR YOUR CARGO?
Two common terms you'll hear in sea freight are FCL and LCL.
But what's the difference?
FCL: Full Container Load
Your cargo has the container to itself.
Ideal when you have enough goods to make using a whole container commercially sensible.
LCL: Less than Container Load
Your cargo shares container space with other shipments.
A useful option when you don't have enough cargo to fill a complete container.
Neither is automatically "better".
The right choice depends on the volume of cargo, timing, destination and commercial requirements of the shipment.
At AGL, we can help you work through the options and find the most appropriate solution for your cargo.
Because sometimes you need the whole container.
And sometimes you just need a bit of it.
