Well guess what, 10 years ago I bought a rickshaw off a well know auction site with the intention of breaking a world record, the record still stands… however, my health has somewhat scuppered it for now. Every effort has been made to keep the Suffolk Rickshaw Company going, today saw the almost inevitable departure of the Rickshaw that was purchased to break world records, after comprehensive discussions on measurements the future owner arrived to take the rickshaw onto its next journey but destiny intervened, despite adjusting and dismantling the trailer that was going to transport the rickshaw onto its new adventure it was not going to plan, the rickshaw was not going anywhere. It stood there, bold as brass in my possession for over 10 years, I’ve ridden it, changed its tyres and lubricated its chain but it sat there in the driveway refusing to leave. The rickshaw never gave up or let me down and my health issues are in the hands of the NHS but still, the rickshaw would not leave and that got me thinking of the 10 years I’ve actually been doing this, I’ve been through a lot of which would be incomprehensible to some people however I will save those details for my memoirs but for now, I’m not done yet and currently the only person in Suffolk to hold a Rickshaw Hackney Carriage Drivers Licence! The Rickshaw Man is not done yet 💪
