Part of Felixstowe. Our commitment is solid for 26/27 and Emirates Logistics are proud to support Felixstowe & Walton Utd FC and local football in our community for another season.

Most people drive on them every day without realising the UK road numbering system is actually one of the most organised navigation systems in the world.

The numbering starts with the A1 and works clockwise around the country.

A-roads beginning with:
A1 are generally in the east
A2 in the south east
A3 and A4 further south and west
all the way round to Scotland with A7, A8 and A9.

Even the motorway network follows the same logic.

The M1 was the UK's first full-length motorway.
The M6 is currently the longest motorway at 232 miles.
The M25 technically is not a complete motorway loop because the Dartford Crossing section becomes the A282.
And one of the shortest motorways in Britain is the A635(M) in Manchester.

Some of these routes still follow ancient Roman roads that were moving goods long before modern haulage existed.

For transport operators, drivers and planners, these numbers are more than signs on a gantry. They are part of the daily language of logistics.

Every route tells a story.

Felixstowe & Walton United Under-18s take on Felixstowe Wanderers in a local charity match this evening.

Friday 31 July
Gates open: 6.30 pm
Kick-off: 7.30 pm
Martello Ground, Felixstowe

There will be some excellent raffle prizes, cash prizes and vouchers, along with hot food, an open bar and a charity cake stall.

Entry is by donation, with cash and card accepted at the gate.

We are pleased to join the local businesses, sponsors and supporters helping to make this event possible. We hope to see plenty of people there tonight.

Amber and Yellow issued for the East Of England.

If you are using air conditioning, gradually turn it down 10–15 minutes before arriving. This will reduce the sudden temperature change when leaving the cab. Heat, exertion and rapid changes in temperature can increase the risk of heat stress.
