🚧 St Mary’s - SM1 Diversion 🚧

Due to roadworks at Watson Rd/Marton Drive junction, service SM1 will divert on Thursday 3rd and Friday 4th September.

The bus will use Highfield Rd to Hawes Side Lane then continue on Hawes Side Lane to Spen Corner and normal route. This will be the same in reverse on the afternoon run.

🚍👥 FANCY A NEW JOB FOR SEPTEMBER 👥🚍

We have an opportunity for 2 drivers to join our Fylde Villager Team driving our four rural routes serving the villages of the Fylde Coast.

But what is Archway about??
We are trying to provide the customers who use our Fylde Villager Network with the best possible service we can, whilst the rest are out the winning awards and changing route numbers left right and centre, we are quietly working away to give our customers the best bus service we can. This is only achievable by having the best people we can driving our buses. We have an excellent team of drivers and we want to keep those high standards up by employing people who also want to provide the best possible service to our customers. If customers service is your thing then you are the sort of person we want!!!

🕛We have 26 duties each day which each encompass the whole variety of our routes and we aim to allow people to work a 4 day a week rota, that said the duties are long duties to allow this 4 day rota to be possible. Working a 4 day week allows drivers to be able to plan commitments and family time around their days off but also allows for those drivers who want to do some overtime to boost their wage.

🤗Customer Service is key and that is the motto we work to!!! We aim to provide the best possible service we can and this is only done by our team of people. From the drivers who are customer facing, politely saying good morning, dropping the step for passengers and waiting for passengers to be seated before setting off. We try our hardest to keep to the timetable and provide a reliable service but unfortunately the current state of roadworks and diversions can make this challenging somewhat.

📆Weekend working is something we insist on, our customers require the buses to run at weekends and as such we need people who are willing to do their fair share of weekends on their rota system. We have a full 26 duties on a Saturday and 9 duties on a Sunday so if you just want to work Monday to Friday each week, this is not the job for you.

☕ Breaks are taken at our dedicated break room in Poulton and drivers can sign on and off here if their duty allows it. If not we have a shuttle service from our Fleetwood Depot to get drivers where they need to be.

👨‍💼You have a dedicated team of operations managers who are on hand to answer any issues you have or any queries that arise throughout the day. They are all ex drivers and they will be out there driving with you if they need to to ensure every bus operates each and every day (something you would think is a given wouldn't you)

🏖️You are paid weekly with your payslips available on an app, you get 32 days per year holiday entitlement, company pension enrollment, staff passes for travel throughout the county on various operators services and what we would like the think is a generally nice place to work.

💰Drivers working a 4 day week with the occasional bit of overtime can easily achieve a salary of over £40000 per annum, we do not currently have any positions for part time hours.

🚊🚍 FLEETWOOD SHUTTLE BUS 🚊🚍

We are pleased to announce that, in partnership with Wyre Council and Fleetwood Markets, we will be continuing the current Shuttle Bus beyond the 1st September from the Tram Terminus at Elm Street to Lord Street and Fleetwood Market.

We will be operating Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday between 10am and 2.45pm and the shuttle will run continuously throughout this period.

We will be adding an additional stop at Albert Square and providing more access to the majority of Lord Street rather than Dock Street and serving all the stops along the route to allow you to gain access to your favourite shops and appointments aswell as access Fleetwood Market and all that they have to offer.

There are no plans currently to extend the service through to Fleetwood Ferry unfortunately and any passengers wishing to access the Ferry Terminus will have to use the Blackpool Transport Bus Service.

We look forward to providing this vital link to the businesses in Fleetwood.

⚪🔴 FANCY WORKING FOR FLEETWOOD'S NUMBER 1 BUS COMPANY🔴⚪

Whilst we await the new batch of stickers to apply to our buses to show how good we are, we thought we would stick a job advert out there and see if there are any keen and willing folk who want to join the team.

We are on the hunt for one, maybe two bus drivers to join our Fylde Villager Team on our network of routes serving the villages of Rural Fylde. We do try and look after our passengers, run to time and generally provide the best possible service that we can and after a driver handed his notice in to finish in a few weeks we thought it best to make sure we get a replacement in and trained up rather than just not bother running the services due to "No Driver".

We are currently looking to recruit the following person ideally:-
A Service Bus Driver who will be dedicated to our Fylde Villager Network. Covering a choice of 4 routes, you will proudly serve the villages of the Fylde Coast with what may have been described as "the best bus service we have ever had". If you are the sort of person who wants to work, who wants to get the hours in and who doesn't mind working weekends then this job is for you. We haven't got any Part Time Positions available and if weekends are an issue for you then there's not much point in applying because our passengers need to get out and about as much on a Saturday and Sunday as they do in the week so we need someone who is willing to do their fair share of weekends.

But why would you want to come and work for that lot in Fleetwood:-
1. You get to drive a modern fleet of well maintained buses through some cracking scenic routes, not just on the magic roundabout in town.
2. You get a break room to hide away from the general public and eat your sandwiches in peace.
3. You get to work with some of the funniest colleagues ever (well they think they are anyway).
4. You get a very stylish uniform (we think it is)
5. You get paid at the end of the week.
6. You get enrolled into a company pension.
7. You get a staff pass that enables you to travel throughout the Fylde Coast.
8. Access to PennyPost Credit Savings.
All we ask of you is the following:-
1. You turn up on time (our passengers expect their bus to arrive on time)
2. You look smart (There's something professional about a well dressed driver)
3. You interact with your customers (some of our passengers will not speak to anyone other than you in a day and that few seconds of interaction whilst boarding and alighting can literally make their day)
4. Don't damage my vehicles (they look smart and we want to keep them looking smart)
5. Be Patient (Most of our customers are 'mature' shall we say and they like it when the driver lowers the step for them, they like it when you wait until they sit down before you set off and they love it when you say hello with a smile)
6. Enjoy yourself (we spend as much time at work as we do at home some days so why not enjoy it - the day will go a lot quicker).

Pay (now this one will get the keyboard warriors going ⌨)
We pay you £14.42 per hour Monday to Friday and £15.45 per hour at weekends. I'm some of you will be on more and that is excellent for you but theres not much else we can do given the current fuel situation and daily rising costs.

☀️🔥🚍 IT'S GOING TO BE A HOT ONE 🚍🔥☀️

As everyone knows, we seem to have swapped Climates with Spain this week and it's certainly shaping up to be a record breaking week for temperatures.

That said it does affect us slightly:-

1. When heading to the bus stop, don't head out too early. We generally operate our services on time or a couple of minutes late so don't venture out too soon to stand in the heat. Make sure you drink plenty of water before you leave the house to stay hydrated.

2. Buses are by design mobile greenhouses, they are full of windows and temperatures do get high in there. Make sure you leave all of the opening windows open at all times and take plenty of water with you for the journey. Most of our coaches have Air Conditioning so they will not be as bad inside but please be advised the Fylde Villager Network and School. Services do not have Air Conditioning and as such will be hotter than usual.

3. Our drivers have been allowed to "dress down" for the duration of this heat wave, they may not be as smart as they usually are but rest assured they are still as professional as ever (albeit in their civvys) We did however ban the wearing of socks and sliders for safety and style reasons 😅

We will do our best to ensure we operate the best service possible and be as caring to our customers as possible and if there are any changes or issues with services we will try our best to communicate this to you.

Today we receieved a phonecall from the staff at Ridgeway who were worried about a group of children who were stranded and couldn't get to the farm....luckily our driver Rokib had just dropped off nearby so we diverted him to Peel Corner to collect the children and get them safely to Ridgeway Farm so they could enjoy their day looking round the farm!!!

🌟 Big Shout Out to Archway Travel! 🌟

Today, Archway Travel were our absolute knights in shining armour! 👏

When 35 children were unexpectedly stranded on Peel Road, Archway Travel stepped in at the last minute, saved the day, and kindly made sure everyone arrived safely at Ridgeway Farm. 🚍🐮

The children went on to have a fantastic time feeding the animals, cuddling the rabbits and guinea pigs, playing Guess Who Laid the Egg? 🥚 and, to top it all off, picking their very own fresh strawberries… yum! 🍓

A huge thank you to Archway Travel for going above and beyond today — your kindness and quick thinking made sure a special day wasn’t missed.

🛞🚍 FANCY JOINING THE TEAM 🚍🛞

We currently have a vacancy for a PCV Driver to join our Schools and Private Hire team based from our depot in Fleetwood.

We are looking for someone who can think on their feet, is a people person, enjoys driving and most importantly is nice and friendly 😁

Our fleet varies from School Buses, College Runs, Rail Replacement, Private Hires, Overnight Trips and so much more. We have everything from 19 seat Minicoaches, 34 to 72 seat executive coaches and our fleet of Double Decker Buses that are mainly used on Home to School runs.

We work 7 days a week, 364 days a year. Weekends are not optional but are shared out equally between everyone to make it fair. You can get plenty of hours in during the week between driving, washing buses, helping out round the yard, anything to pass the day really.

We try and let our staff have a good work life balance and work round you whereever we can, that said we are incredibly busy at the moment so we need people who want to work and enjoy what they do. We do our best to make it an enjoyable place to work and you need a good sense of humour to work with us.

You would be required to either have a current DBS Badge or be able to apply for one through us. You will need a Full Cat D License and a Tacho Card would be advantageous. (Sorry no trainees at the moment, qualified staff only please)
