🎉 The Friday News You've Been Waiting For!
We're delighted to announce that the £2 Fare Cap is being extended to our Helensburgh & Lomond operations from Monday 7 September 2026.
What does this mean for you?
🚍 Journeys made entirely within the SPT or HITRANS areas will be capped at £2.
🚍 If your journey crosses between the SPT and HITRANS areas, the maximum fare will be £4.
There's no need to worry about calculating the correct fare. Our ticket machines will automatically apply the fare cap, ensuring you never pay more than the maximum capped fare for your journey.
The £2 Fare Cap forms part of an interim Scottish Government-funded fare scheme and is subject to the terms, conditions, and duration determined by the Scottish Government.
Thank you for travelling with us.
📣Fare Cap Clarification 📣
🚍 Services 315, 316, 316A and 316X
These services operate entirely within the Strathclyde region. Therefore, all single fares are capped at £2.
🚍 Service 302
Service 302 operates across the boundary between the Strathclyde and HiTrans regions.
The fare cap applies as follows:
•Helensburgh to Rest and Be Thankful: Single fares capped at £2.
•Rest and Be Thankful to Carrick Castle: Single fares capped at £2.
•Journeys crossing the Strathclyde/HiTrans boundary (for example, Helensburgh to Carrick Castle): Single fares capped at £4.
This is because the journey passes through two fare cap regions, with a maximum charge of £2 per region.
