A massive congratulations Josh Blenkiron.

Blenkiron edges it

After a 10 round war it's Josh Blenkiron who is the new Commonwealth Silver Lightweight Champion.

Luke suffered from a cut in the opening round that progressively got worse as the contest continued.

Both men had their moments as Josh started strongly and Luke closed the contest strongly.

The judges scored the bout 96-94 to the new champion 👏🏼

SPONSOR SPOTLIGHT – TONY CARTER
Football clubs don't run themselves.

Behind every match, every team and every Saturday, there's a load of people putting their time, money and energy into making it happen.

One of those people is Tony Carter.

Tony runs Carter Express Freight, but he's also our Vice Chairman and a massive part of what we're trying to build at Dunston UTS FC.
Tony doesn't just put his name on a sponsorship board and disappear until the next season. He's around the club, gets stuck in and genuinely cares about what happens here.
And that matters.

Running a grassroots football club isn't always glamorous. There are bills to pay, pitches to sort, players to look after, youth teams to support and a hundred other things that most people never see.
People like Tony help make sure we can keep doing it.

And his support reaches far beyond the First Team. We've got a Women's Team and 17 youth teams, with hundreds of players and families involved with the club.
That's what sponsorship should be about.

People backing people. Local businesses backing their local club.
So, a big thank you to Tony and everyone at Carter Express Freight for everything you do for Dunston UTS FC.
We're genuinely lucky to have you.
