Said goodbye to the motor home and picked up another hire car for a couple of days until we fly home on Monday.
They were low on cars so they upgraded me with this little beauty. Very nice indeed.
OH, and I just happened to find a Fireworks shop that I just had to stop at 😂😂 only got a couple.

Nice morning at Dunkirk then on our way to Calais. A Quick look around while finding the Laundromat, lunch at McDonald’s then onto the ferry port. There is secure parking here and we were booked to sail tomorrow morning but got a change to the tickets and are currently on the boat heading for Dover.
Even the Sat Nav knows the way back 😂

Dunkirk for our stopover tonight. After a beautiful day at Bruges we hopped over to Dunkirk coastline for the night. Nice beach with plenty of people enjoying the 27c still at 7:30pm. We get to park under a lighthouse but, well it is not much of a looker when it comes to lighthouses.
As we are at the shipping port the security here is pretty serious. They have been here to check the lighthouse twice since we got here so feeling very safe tonight👍. There was an old rubber raft and some items of clothing washed up on the beach which all seems a bit sad.

In Bruges, wow what a beautiful city it is, so much history and amazing views every where you look. We were so lucky to grab a parking spot right in the central area so a short walk took us to the Belfort tower and the Market square as seen in the movie In Bruges.

Tonight’s stop at Kerkhofstraat, easy to say but hard to spell😂. After a walk around the Blegny Mine Museum this morning we had a farewell lunch with Mandy & John as they are heading off to Berlin and we are sadly making our way back to Calais to catch the ferry on Friday.
Not a lot of pics as we were driving all afternoon but did take some of the beautiful builds in this town.

Left from Kaisersesch, Germany this morning heading to Liege, Belgium and stopping overnight at Blegny Mine. The mine tour was awesome and the guide apart from speaking really good English had a great sense of humour and according to him when anything can go wrong ‘sh*t happens’ 😊

Slower pace today as we explored some of the countryside around Nurburgring, this castle was built prior to 1166 and changed hands many times over the years and was at one time used for payment for depts owing. It stood tall through many wars only to be destroyed by French soldiers in 1689. The castle was handed to the state in 1953 and has been restored to what it is today.

What a day😊, Parked on the edge of the Nurburgring race track last night. Awake at 8am today to the sound of drivers testing their cars & skills on the track where some were obviously better than others. Amazing variety of vehicles including motorcycles all going around as hard as they can in around 15 minutes a lap. We had lunch at the Info centre and stoped off at a few different viewing areas including ‘YouTube Corner’ made famous due to the amount of mishaps they have there. We watched a lot entering at the start line and then Daniel Warren asked if Mandy and I would like to do a lap with him in his Porsche Panamera, well I had to think about it for around 100th of a millisecond before saying YES. Thank you Dan for a truly awesome ride and a once in a lifetime experience.

Parked up along the Rhine river at Cologne, popular motor home spot and right in the middle of the city at 5euro per night. So many cruise boats that we have seen advertised at home. We walked into the city, loved how old the buildings were and of course the Cologne Cathedral. Found a lot of restaurants that offered everything from German sausages to fine dining, we settled for weiner schnitzel that was delicious. Took the yellow train tour to save a lot of walking and got off at the Lindt chocolate museum Yumm.
Left Cologne, stocked up on groceries including colourful eggs and now at the Nuremberg ring.

Two days so a bit to say😂.
Ferry from Dover to Calais was very comfortable but found being on the other side of road a bit awkward especially at roundabouts. Met up with John & Mandy at Maccas and three hours later we are in Tubize, Belgium. Couple of cold ones and an awesome dinner (thank you Mandy).
Got the train into the City and had an amazing breakfast followed by a walk around the city. Back to Tubize to drive to Cologne this afternoon.
