Another job completed on a local yacht that hit a channel marker buoy causing significant structural damage. The impact had broken the bow support bulkhead so it needed removing, internal hull repairs, a new, beefier bulkhead making up out of thicker plywood and all bonded in using West system epoxy. The internals were all then coated with gelcoat in white to match the original and all the individual strip panelling refitting. Externally the hull had to have some cracking ground out and relamination before several coats of gelcoat to finish off the repair.

Neal’s been a busy chap recently with some heavy grp damage repairs to a Border Force vessel. Digging into all the laminate damage on the bow, repairing with west system epoxy and fairing with a matching blue gelcoat, as per the original colour, then applying a grey wrap to match. Also a new stainless steel keel band strip and all finished off with a new section of rubber fendering.

Meanwhile Simon repaired the sterndrives, that had a leaking seal and also a bent propeller shaft from an underwater impact.

Another great job completed by the team at Gillingham and the boat ready to go back to service.

Weekend work has been continuing to sort out our portacabin. The old tired interior has now been stripped out so we can insulate and transform this into our new office and parts store. With the new workshop now in use, we can accommodate all your boat repairs at Gillingham Marina.

This week in Gillingham, we have been assisting with fitting a new higher capacity water pump onto the deck of the water injection dredger, ‘Melwey’. The pump has the mounting studs welded to the decks, and then the intake and outlet pipes, hoses and connections needed upgrading to match the increased pipe sizes and water capacity. Work was finally completed and tested on Friday and she can now go off to work. The increase in water flow from the original pump system was very impressive!

Big news! 🎉

We’re excited to announce that in order to improve our support for boat owners in the marina, we’ve taken on a workshop at Gillingham Marina! We’re currently moving in and getting everything set up. Our portacabin, which previously served as our workshop, will be transformed into our new office and stores and will be located right in the boatyard — making us far more visible and easier to find.

Best of all, we can now bring boats fully undercover and into the workshop, allowing us to work in all conditions. This means more consistent turnaround times and far less disruption from the weather. The new space will be a huge advantage for GRP
repairs and antifouling work, and we can’t wait to put it to good use!

Visit us in store or contact us for parts or to book in your servicing for Nanni, Vetus, Thornycroft and Volvo Penta engines.

Getting ready for the season? Take advantage of our great deals on Nanni and Vetus engine packages.

We also supply all your electrical and electronic needs, with leading brands such as Raymarine, Garmin and Victron Energy. If you’re considering a chart plotter or radar upgrade this season, give us a call — we’re here to help.

Thank you and we look forward to another great season supporting you all!

Our Christmas draw has been made by a couple of the lovely RNLI Sheerness crew, Steve and Neil. After sharing some stories of the frankly eye opening life saving tasks that they have carried out recently, they drew out the tickets for 19 lucky winners!! All those have been notified and prizes allocated.

We would really love to thank everyone that has taken the time to enter this years raffle and hope that everyone is happy with their prizes!

Together we have raised a total of £400 that will be going to support the ongoing work that the lifeboat crews carry out, day in, day out and in all weathers.

Thank you everyone and we wish you all a very happy Christmas and safe sailing in 2026!

Only a couple of days before our Christmas charity raffle takes place.

We have organised this to raise funds for the RNLI this year. The RNLI do a great job all around the country, one only has to watch programmes like ‘saving lives at sea’ to really see what they do. The crew of the Sheerness lifeboat in particular have assisted several yachts that have got in to trouble navigating on the Medway, rescued sailors that have been injured or towed vessels to safety following a mechanical failure. We thought it was only right to give something back to those volunteer crews that ask for nothing but are willing to venture out to assist us water users in our moment of need.

We have managed to source some absolutely amazing prizes for this, and I would like to do a final push to get as many people involved as possible. It’s only £2.50 a ticket, available from Kirsty at our office and the draw will be taking place at 12.00 this Friday. Not all prizes are boat related either!

So what are you waiting for! Call in as soon as possible to get a couple of last minute tickets, get in the draw and potentially win some great prizes!

Thanks for your support, Simon.
