Our sawmill is now up and running and we'd like to share our process of creating sustainable timber for our packaging solutions.
With the support from Scottish Forestry, all our timber is locally sourced. For every tree that is felled for timber, a newly planted tree will take its place. Scottish Forestry is Sustainable Forestry focussed on its approach.
After the round wood has been sawn into planks, is it put through the kiln to dry out the wood. The kiln ensures uniform drying in a controlled environment, providing the timber with the correct moisture content required to ensure no shrinking across the sawn timber.
After the timber has been dried, the wood planar is used to flatten and smooth a wood surface, skimming the top to remove thin layers until the desired thickness or finish has been reached.
Our timber is ISPM 15 accredited and ready for export. ISPM 15 is the industry standard regarding wooden packaging. Our timber is used to create custom cases and crates to house your equipment.
