We are recruiting a Thames Patrol Deckhand (12-month Fixed Term Contract) to join our Chief Harbour Master’s department.

Operating from our base in Gravesend, this exciting role puts you at the forefront of our operations on the river.

Our vessels ensure the safety of navigation on the Thames through routine patrols, monitoring river works and vessels, responding to incidents, and enforcing regulations & Pilot transfer.

As part of the Chief Harbour Master’s department, you will be a key presence on the river, working closely with Harbour Masters and other departments across the PLA to maintain a safe and efficient waterway.

Furnivall Sculling Club is one of our previous Thames Environment Fund grant recipients 💚

The club used funding from the Thames Environment Fund to invest in an electric outboard motor, helping to create a cleaner and quieter environment on the River Thames 🌊⚡

The fund enabled them to:
• replace an ageing petrol outboard with an electric alternative
• reduce emissions and potential pollution entering the river
• provide a quieter, lighter and more environmentally friendly support boat for rowing activities
