One of our customers, who had hired our fishing boat, came across a swan that had become badly tangled in some discarded string. Poor thing had been trapped all night and was completely exhausted.
Our customer did exactly the right thing by calling the Broads Ranger, who quickly contacted the Swan Rescue team. Thanks to everyone’s swift action, the swan was safely rescued and is now receiving the care it needs.
It’s a wonderful example of how looking out for our wildlife can make all the difference, and we’d like to say a huge thank you to our customer for taking the time to help rather than simply passing by.
Stories like this are also a gentle reminder to everyone enjoying the waterways to take any litter home with you, especially fishing line, string and other materials that can pose a real danger to wildlife.
