Excellent conditions on the water this week for a range of different member training courses and events, including RYA day skipper motor, 2 days of social sailing and the start of our all new Yachtmaster skills series (more on that below).

Our industry leading training and events programme doesn’t just deliver RYA syallbus. It’s about having a way to regularly practice, test and evolve skills to help turn knowledge into expertise - because we believe it’s what happens beyond formal qualifications that really makes the difference. That’s why we support our members through every part of their skippering journey, not just a course syllabus.

In the last year our training and membership desks have delivered:

✅ 155 shared member event days across training, social, racing and adventure
✅ 173 bespoke training days tailored to individual requirements
✅ 52 RYA training courses

Kicking off this week, our new Yachtmaster skills series is aimed at qualified skippers who want to take their sailing to the next level. Upcoming YM skill events include: advanced berthing & seamanship, boat handling under sail, blind & electronic navigation, man overboard & safety , night sailing and more!!! Busy afternoon on the dock with 9 different crews and boats preparing for an overnight passage and 4 day cruise to the Channel islands. Skippers briefing suggested weather looks decent, with 10-15 knots from the South East and a few light patches forecast overnight. First stop Guernsey for Thursday night before moving onto Sark.

A tough job but somebody had to do it! Toby & Roland oversaw the launch of our new Cap Camarat 7.5 ‘Pure Wave’ this week before taking her for a blast to ‘check the systems’.

She’s now on the dock and ready to go with a 300hp Yamaha outboard that packs plenty of punch (top speed of 40 knts) and a sociable well-organised cockpit that is ideal for fun days on the water.

The forecast for this coming Bank Holiday Saturday looks perfect to take her for a spin with lots of sunshine and light breeze. Get booking now!

Late notice channel islands availability!

In just under 6 weeks, 10 boats from the Pure Latitude fleet will head across the Channel for a few days cruising Guernsey, Sark (pictured) & Alderney 15-19th May. It’s always a great trip to a very special cruising ground. Due to cancellation, we’ve had a couple of spaces come up on one of our skippered boats – our Catamaran ‘Issamella II’. Who fancies blasting across the channel on the J/45 ‘Stickleback’ to the beautiful French harbour of Honfleur? This is going to be a special 4 day trip with a likely mileage in excess of 250 nautical miles.

'Stickleback' is a 2022 J/45, and she's available through Pure Latitude for this trip as she is owned by an ex-club member. She’s a superlative performer that is everything a cruiser/racer should be; easily handled, impeccably behaved, beautifully comfortable down below and, perhaps most importantly of all, impressively quick. The price tag on a new J/Boats Inc. J/45 comes in upwards of £700,000, so this is a very special opportunity to sail onboard this beautiful boat.

And the destination won’t disappoint either! Nestling in the Normandy estuary where the Seine meets the English channel, harbours don’t come any prettier than Honfleur. Colourful half-timbered houses jostle for position on the quay, along with art galleries and restaurants serving delicious seafood.
