Tiamat is redefining how we approach sustainable sediment management. 💡

By harnessing its innovative, low-impact design, Tiamat aligns with global goals to combat climate change, offering a cleaner, greener solution for dredging operations.

At the heart of its operation is natural sediment re-suspension, an approach that reintroduces dredged material back into the water column with minimal disruption. This method not only protects sensitive estuarine ecosystems, but also reduces the need for intrusive and expensive sediment disposal, safeguarding marine habitats and promoting ecological balance. 🌊

In addition to these benefits, Tiamat also delivers significant operational and economic advantages. By removing the need for repeated trips to disposal sites, it drastically reduces fuel consumption and emissions compared to conventional dredging techniques, shrinking the overall carbon footprint of maintenance dredging activities.

We’ve recently completed filming a new video at Harwich Haven Authority, where Tiamat has successfully transitioned from groundbreaking trials to a vital part of its annual dredging operations. Following a series of successful tests, Tiamat now supports the Port's unique sediment management challenges with impressive results.

✅Significant cost savings: Reducing reliance on Trailing Suction Hopper Dredger (TSHD) campaigns has cut annual schedules in half, saving up to £1 million per Tiamat campaign.

✅Environmental benefits: Tiamat's efficiency reduces carbon emissions - ensuring greener, more sustainable dredging practices.

✅Flexible design: Thanks to its clever development, Tiamat can be used with any standard workboat - meaning no additional costly vessel need commissioning.

✅Adaptability: Waterways around the world have unique characteristics and therefore, their needs vary. A huge benefit of Tiamat is its ability to be adaptable - with the opportunity to add pumps, move pumps or tweak the design to meet the environmental needs.

We’re proud of how far Tiamat has come and look forward to continuing our work at Harwich Haven Authority.

Ports are the lifeline of global trade and at Haven Dredging, we recognise their critical role in keeping economies moving. 🚢

Traditional dredging methods can often mean long lead times and resource-heavy operations, which can add significant strain on port maintenance projects.

However, we have a solution... Designed to be towed by smaller, readily-available workboats with minimal modifications, Tiamat reduces operational complexity and costs, and offers a more adaptable and more efficient solution.

Our innovative hydrodynamic dredging system is redefining sustainability for port management and maintenance. With its adaptable and scalable design, Tiamat is ready when ports need it most, helping them stay operational and agile. 🌊

We understand the need for dredging, and we're proud to be making it cleaner, greener and more efficient. Learn more about how Tiamat here: www.havendredging.com

In our latest blog, we talk about innovation in dredging technology.

At Haven Dredging, we’re proud to share the story behind Tiamat, our hydrodynamic dredging technology. Developed by Harwich Haven Authority in partnership with Martens en Van Oord, Tiamat is a cleaner, greener, more adaptable and cost effective dredging solution, aligned with the goal of achieving net zero by 2035.🌱

Here’s why Tiamat is a game-changer:

✅ Ecologically sustainable: Tiamat works with natural tidal currents to redistribute sediment, preserving water clarity and minimising the impact on marine ecosystems.

✅ Cost effective: Tiamat operates at up to 65% lower costs than traditional dredging methods.

✅ Innovative design: Tiamat is deployed by smaller vessels like workboats, which reduces fuel consumption and carbon emissions, and improves the flexibility and availability of vessels within the fleet.

✅ Adaptable solutions: Tiamat is customisable for different ports and harbours, with development options such as the “turtle tickler” to alert marine wildlife to its presence.

For dredging operators looking to reduce dredging costs or improve sustainability, Tiamat delivers measurable benefits which positively impact the bottom line and the planet. 💵🌍
