We see it time and time again…
“Work’s quiet.”
“No one’s spending.”
“There’s no work out there.”
“Business is dead.”
But here’s the question…
What are YOU actually putting into your business?
Do you pay for advertising?
Do you invest in marketing?
Is your website kept up to date?
Does your website actually sell your services or is it just a basic landing page that’s been sat untouched for years?
Are you building your brand?
Are you consistently putting yourself in front of potential customers?
Because what you put into your business is usually what you’ll get back out of it.
We see self-employed people complain that there’s no work coming in, then the second they get paid, the money is straight out again on the pub, weekends away, nights out or partying.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with enjoying your money.
But there’s a massive difference between running a business and simply being self-employed to fund your lifestyle.
A real business needs investment.
Marketing.
Advertising.
A professional website.
Branding.
Equipment.
Systems.
Growth.
If you earn £1,000 and waste every penny of it, then invest £0 back into the thing that generated that money, you can’t be surprised when eventually the phone stops ringing.
Your business isn't an ATM. It's an asset that needs feeding.
Before blaming the economy, Facebook, customers or “everyone being skint”, ask yourself:
When was the last time you actually invested in growing your business?
There’s a difference between wanting more work and actually doing something to generate it. 👀
