Hi this is an extract, from an architectural drawing of Havant station. Can anybody tell me what the "Spot Elevations" arrowed would be measured in. The other dimensions are all measured in feet & inches but I can not work out the height values. I know they relate to the measured datum height.

Any 1930's architects out there?

Just been to the printers to get an A1 printed copy of a high resolution drawing, that Network rail sent me, of the station building design. Dimensions are clear and easy to read so now a prototypical replica is possible.

After posting this picture on, bygone days of Havant, I have now discovered that the section of bridge that joined on to Elmleigh road did not exist during my railways time period. Public feedback is great

After receiving the diagrams from Network Rail, I went back to them, after thanking them for the said diagrams, I asked if there was any chance of obtaining a high resolution scan of the diagrams. They have come back with a positive response and have sent out a memory stick with high resolution scans of the diagrams. I await the delivery, hopefully tomorrow of the stick. Getting ever so much closer to a prototypical layout.

Had a good response to my freedom of information request to National rail. They sent me copies, of diagrams they have on file, for Havant station. They are poor quality scans, but they do provide quite a bit of information for the station building designs. Just a shame the dimensions are so hard to see on these poor resolution scans. Wish i could get the original documents

Unfortunately the printers, that the Bluebell railway archive department use, has a problem with their scanner, so I have to wait before getting my hands on the plans. Frustrating ☚ī¸

I have just managed to lay my hands on an original set of plans dated in April 1938. They detail the addition of colour lights added on 1st May 1938 around Havant station. A big thank you to Neil Knowlden of the Southern Railway Group for giving me a heads up of the sale.

Havant Model Railway

I am in the process of building a oo gauge railway model (1:76.2). My vision is to have a layout that is truly a representation of the Havant station c.1938-63. I want it to be like a photograph, that is why I am taking my time and sourcing ample information to complete the research before building. Any help appreciated,
