🏥 Have your say on local NHS services

The hospitals serving communities across Richmondshire want to hear from patients, families and carers about their experiences of local health and care services.

Representatives from University Hospitals Tees (UHT), which brings together South Tees Hospitals and North Tees & Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trusts, will be at Market House, Hawes, on Tuesday 4 August 2026, from 9.30am to 4.30pm.

This is your opportunity to share:

✅ What could be improved
✅ Your ideas for the future of local hospital and community health services

Did you know The Little White Car is part of The Good Life Project?
This includes the Little Bookshop on the cobbles (across the road from The White Hart)
It has such a big selection of second hand books on all genres.
Worth a pop in and see what takes your fancy.

A couple of our wonderful driver volunteers also volunteer in the book shop.

On Tuesday evening we were invited to Thoralby WI meeting to discuss all things ‘The Good Life Project’ which the Little White Car is part of.
Julie Greenslade gave a fabulous informative talk about The Little White Car and how it is very much needed and used well in the upper dales.

The Little White Cars are very busy with hospital and social care appointments (which is wonderful) but we are on the look out for drivers.
Do you have a spare day a week or month that you would be able to drive one of the cars to a hospital appointment?

It was a huge honour for The Little White Car to be nominated and then shorlisted for a Community Transport Association award at their 40 year celebration event yesterday evening.

We weren't winners on the night, but making the top four and having the opportunity to meet our fellow CT nominees was a huge privilege. Well done to Daybreak Oxford, Badenoch and Strathspey Community Connections and to the winners, Holsworthy Rural Community Transport 👏🏆

What a beautiful place in the country we are blessed to live.
On reflection I would like to thank our fabulous volunteer drivers as we have had a super busy week including managing to do several journeys in one day. (Which is roughly 70 mile round trips!)
The Little White Car would not be what it is without you. So Thank you 🤩

Always spaces available to become a volunteer driver for The Little White Car driving through this wonderful countryside to ensure all are getting to their medical appointments

Some wonderful courses that will be running in the Community Cabin from June.
If you live from Bainbridge to mid Wensleydale (Aysgarth/Carperby) and would like to attend these courses but do not have transport please get in touch to discuss possible transport.
Or if you have a relative or friend who may like to brush up on their phone skills this is for them.
It is a free course for all North Yorkshire residents.
