𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲𝗻’𝘁 𝗺𝗲𝘁 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘆𝗲𝘁.

There’s a version of you who wakes before sunrise because the African bush is already stirring.

A version who swims in water so impossibly blue it looks edited.

A version who orders something from a menu without having the faintest idea what it is.

A version who watches the sun disappear over an island you once only knew from a photograph.

A version who laughs with complete strangers.

Who tries something new.

Who gets a little lost.

Who forgets what day it is.

Here’s a little travel trick that can completely change the way you plan a holiday...

𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗱𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗳𝗹𝘆 𝗵𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗳𝗹𝗲𝘄 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼.

It’s called an open-jaw itinerary, and for multi-centre holidays it can be brilliant.

Think:

🇿🇦 Fly into Cape Town. Travel through South Africa. Fly home from Johannesburg.

🇯🇵 Arrive in Tokyo. Explore the country. Fly home from Osaka.

🇺🇸 Start in New York. Finish somewhere completely different.

Why?

Because sometimes the biggest waste of a holiday is spending your final day travelling backwards just to catch the flight home.

It won’t always be the cheapest option.

But it can save time, cut out unnecessary journeys and make the whole trip flow much more naturally.

“One day I’ll finally book that ridiculous overwater villa and pretend I’m the sort of person who casually has breakfast delivered by canoe.”

Lovely.

But there’s a small problem.

“One day” is very good at quietly becoming “never got round to it”.

So if there’s somewhere you’ve always wanted to go, maybe the first step isn’t booking anything at all.

It's time for some serious self reflection if this is what my AI thinks of me... 🤔

I asked my ChatGPT to create an image of how it feels speaking to me everyday, and to be as brutal and honest as possible. 🙈

My main take away from this, however, is that I am a perfectionist. I've kind of always know this.
