Hours: Full Time – Permanent

Company Description: Part of the Ital group of companies, Ital Transport UK is a domestic transport company that specialises in the safe and efficient movement of Dangerous Goods throughout the UK. We operate our own fleet of vehicles that vary in size from vans through to HGV’s.
Due to a driver promotion, we are now recruiting additional class 2 ADR driver based at our Heywood operating centre on a full time, permanent basis. The applicant must have a full UK Driving license, and hold a Cat C license and Driver CPC. The applicant ideally must be able to carry ADR classes 2, 3, 6, 8 & 9, (although training can be provided to the preferred candidate if required).

Applications from ex-military personnel are encouraged.

Ital Transport (UK) is a member of the Road Haulage Association.

Purpose: To drive our fleet vehicles on daily domestic collection / delivery runs.

A busy day at the NEC today, taking in both Multimodal 2026 and Warehouse & Yard.

It’s always worthwhile getting away from the office and spending time talking to people across our industry. Events like these are a great reminder of just how much innovation is happening throughout the supply chain, while also creating valuable opportunities to build new relationships.

For us at Ital Transport (UK) Ltd, it’s been an excellent opportunity to introduce our business to some of the UK’s larger hauliers and demonstrate how our domestic transport network and ADR expertise can support their operations. You never know where the next partnership or customer relationship will come from.

The day has also been very productive from a fleet perspective. With our planned expansion later this year, we’ve been speaking to several trailer manufacturers and gathering quotations ahead of our October fleet growth.

And, of course, it was fantastic to see the beautifully restored Fagan & Whalley wagon looking absolutely pristine. A wonderful reminder of the rich history of road haulage and just how far our industry has come.

Looking forward to the conversations still to come before heading home.

🚛 Celebrating National Lorry Week 2026 at Ital Transport 🍔

Today we’ve been delighted to welcome both our domestic and international drivers to our Heywood depot for a BBQ in support of National Lorry Week 2026.

The road transport industry keeps the UK moving every single day, and this was our small way of saying thank you to the people who make it happen. From our own drivers to those visiting us from across Europe, every one of you plays a vital role in the supply chain that keeps businesses, shops and communities supplied.

It was fantastic to see so many people taking the opportunity to enjoy some good food, have a chat and take a well-earned break together.

A huge thank you also goes to everyone behind the scenes who helped organise today’s event and to all our staff who made our visiting drivers feel so welcome.

At Ital Transport (UK) Limited, we’re proud to support National Lorry Week and proud to stand alongside the people who keep Britain—and Europe—moving.

Today is a bittersweet day at Ital Transport as we say goodbye to our Mercedes Actros 2530 (YN18 PXT), which has now been sold.

For most people, it’s just a truck. For us, it’s much more than that.

This was the very first vehicle purchased by Ital Transport and the truck that helped lay the foundations of the business we have today. It has been a constant presence through some of our most important years, including the challenges and opportunities that followed COVID.

On a personal level, it also holds a special place in my heart. After passing my HGV test, this was the first 26-tonne rigid I ever drove. Like many drivers, you never forget the vehicle that gave you that first real taste of the job.

Over the years, it’s delivered thousands of loads, travelled countless miles, and played its part in helping us grow from a small operation into the business we are today.

As difficult as it is to see it go, keeping an up-to-date fleet is essential in modern haulage. Reliability, efficiency, compliance, and providing the best possible service to our customers means continually investing in newer equipment.

So today we say thank you to a truck that has served us incredibly well and has been part of our journey from the very beginning.

As temperatures soar across the UK today, with some of the hottest conditions ever recorded and amber and red heat warnings in place, we want to take a moment to recognise the people who keep the country moving.
Today, we're celebrating our incredible ITAL Transport drivers who are out on the roads across the Midlands and the North of England, delivering for our customers despite the challenging conditions.

While many of us can seek shade or air conditioning, professional drivers continue to demonstrate dedication, resilience and professionalism behind the wheel, ensuring essential goods reach businesses and communities safely and on time.

National Lorry Week is about recognising the vital role that road transport plays in everyday life, but more importantly, it's about recognising the people who make it happen.

To all our drivers and the thousands of HGV professionals across the UK:

I regularly – in fact, almost daily – receive calls from recruitment agencies asking if we need drivers. Most of them don't believe me when I tell them that we don't use recruitment agencies and actually have a waiting list of drivers who want to join Ital Transport.

From day one, I've had a clear vision for Ital Transport: treat our drivers with the same respect, trust and appreciation that I would expect myself.

I never ask anyone to do something that I wouldn't be prepared to do personally. That's why you'll still find me behind the wheel as well as managing and directing several businesses. I know first-hand the pressures and demands of the job because I live it too.

At Ital Transport, we invest in our people. We provide a clear path for career development, training our staff to become some of the best-qualified professionals on the road and supporting them to upskill their licences and progress their careers.

We reward good practice and, where standards fall short, we educate and develop rather than criticise and condemn. Our drivers are rewarded before management rewards themselves because we understand a simple truth: without our people, there is no business.

The point of this post is simple. If you don't cut corners, if you invest in your staff, and if you remember that your workforce is every bit as important – if not more important – than senior management, then you'll build a company that people genuinely want to be part of. Prom Night Gets the Ital Transport Treatment!

Most students arrive at prom in a fancy car, limousine, or perhaps even a vintage vehicle. But not Sam. He had bigger ideas.

When Sam said he’d love to arrive at his Clitheroe Grammar School prom in an Ital Transport truck, we couldn’t possibly say no!

This evening, one of our trucks swapped pallets and deliveries for bow ties and prom photos as it proudly transported Sam to the Foxfields Country Hotel for his big night.

For Ital Transport’s Managing Director, Simon Morley, it made the occasion even more special. For many years, Sam was one of Simon’s Scouts, having joined when he was very young and only recently moved on. So, being able to give him a memorable arrival at prom felt like coming full circle.

We’re pretty sure this is the first time one of our trucks has ever been used as a prom limousine. And while it was certainly the biggest vehicle in the car park tonight, we’re not entirely convinced the trees and low-hanging branches appreciated our grand entrance!
