As an essential business for many who need to send letters and parcels across the nation and internationally. Parcel Post confirms that we will be staying open for the third lock down. “Coronavirus continues to challenge how we’re all living our lives right now, not least as we adjust to a further national lockdown to help get the pandemic under control.

“Throughout it all, Parcel Post has been there for communities across the UK.

“As an essential service our support teams have worked tirelessly to keep open and trading in over 95 percent of our network locations."

While at the parcel shop, you’ll need to follow the social distancing rules.

“To help you follow the government’s guidance on social distancing, we’re using floor markers to ensure customers queue at a 2-metre distance.

Make sure you wear a mask and put your parcels or letters on the counter rather than handing them to the staff.

We look forward to welcoming you.

Serious incident on M40 impacts delivery operation in London and South East today

A serious incident on the M40 between junctions 16 and 15 southbound, in the early hours of this morning will severely impact delivery operations today.

At one point, 30 of the trailers bound for the London area and South East were delayed by the incident following the closure of the motorway.

The motorway has recently reopened one lane and we will work hard to deliver parcels, however there will inevitably be an impact to premium deliveries.

Please be assured our teams are working hard to minimise delays.

If we have your customers' contact details we will advise them of any change to their delivery.

Royal Mail to trial e-Trikes for letter and parcel deliveries.

Royal Mail, the UK’s primary postal-carrier, is set to trial eight e-assisted trikes in selected urban areas from March onwards in a bid to reduce emissions.

While the trikes themselves are interesting, I think the significance is a large company illustrating that practical, cycle-powered alternatives to urban transport exist.

The six-month trial will start in Stratford, Cambridge and Sutton Coldfield. If the trial is deemed successful, Royal Mail may expand the program across the UK.

Royal Mail price increase 2019: stamps are getting more expensive – here’s all you need to know. The changes will come into place from 25 March 19.

First class stamps are to rise by 3p, going up to 70p, while 2nd class ones will also go up by 3p, to 61p, the Royal Mail has announced.

The changes will come into place from 25 March and will help ensure the sustainability of the universal postal service, the company said.

Royal Mail said it had reviewed the changes “very carefully” while seeking to minimise any impact on customers.

Stamp prices in the UK rate among the best value in Europe, the company added.

The Royal Mail said its research showed that the average price of a 1st class stamp in Europe was 99p, and 77p for 2nd class, adding that the UK has one of the highest quality of service specifications of any major European country.
