A bit of a different one for us! We have recently had the pleasure of working alongside the crew of the Spirit of Shackleton youth development yacht. The vessel came into Holyhead Marine for survey, we managed to rectify the couple of issues that were picked up very quickly and get them on their way on the same tide. Everyone at Holyhead Marine would like to wish all the crew safe travels on their future expeditions.

It's that time of year again as we gear up for Seawork 2026. We look forward to meeting customers, partners, and industry colleagues from across the commercial marine sector on our stand at F16.

We are particularly delighted to have Falmouth Port Authority Joining us this year to showcase their Holyhead Marine built Pilot Boat, "Atlantic" on the pontoons at berth VB34, this is very exciting for us and gives us an opportunity to show off the quality, performance, and craftsmanship that have become synonymous with Holyhead Marine vessels.

Holyhead Marine is delighted to announce that we have been awarded the contract by Peterhead Port Authority to design and build a new 16-metre Pilot Boat for service in the Port of Peterhead.

This award represents another significant milestone for our team and reflects the confidence placed in Holyhead Marine's expertise in delivering high-performance, purpose-built commercial vessels.

The new pilot boat will be designed by Camarc Design, featuring their unique wing ballast system and a resiliently mounted wheelhouse, we are confident that the vessel will be a valuable asset to support the demanding operational requirements of Peterhead Port.

We would like to thank Peterhead Port Authority for the opportunity and look forward to working closely with them throughout the project.

Construction will commence shortly and we look forward to sharing updates as the vessel takes shape.

Our passage crew were up bright and early this morning passaging an Island Class patrol boat from Rhu to Holyhead for maintenance. En-route they were lucky enough to spot a pod of Orca's in the Irish Sea!

Not only that, but it was our engineer Marcie’s very first solo passage as onboard engineer, well done Marcie!

How do you top spotting a pod of Killer Whales on your very first passage?

Last week was a busy week here for boat movements. We had the Lynas Shuttle in for some routine maintenance, the Spectrum 4 for some weld repairs and this week we have the Windcat 3 and NSL Adventurer. Thankfully the sun is shining!
