Switzerland - Saas Fee - And home

Sadly all good things come to an end and today was our last morning. Armed with a huge bag of peanuts we decided to go back up to Stafelwald to feed the marmots again.

Then it was time to take a bus down to the train station in Visp. There’s a direct train all the way to Geneva airport with stunning views of the lake as we pass by.

A quick meal at the airport - it’s more affordable and there’s more choice landside, than airside.

Our flight was delayed so we had a couple of hours to relax at the airport before heading home. 😎

Switzerland - Saas fee - Day 6
Well we’ve had really great weather so far, today was our first rainy day, and after a busy week we decided to chill in our apartment this morning.
Then a walk through the woods this afternoon, ending up at Stafelwald, home to the tamest, greediest and fattest marmots on the planet.
The rain did not deter them from coming out of their holes to feast on the nuts that we had brought along, and it’s very easy to hand feed them here.
These giant rodents hibernate in the wintertime - they will be sleeping soundly under the ski slopes, as the skiers whizz over them, so they do need to fatten up at this time of year.

We then decided to eat out at the mistral restaurant, enjoying truly delicious food. Home for an early night! 😎
