Exciting times ahead! We’re looking to welcome a HGV class 1 driver to our team! 🥳🎉
If you didn’t already know, we’re a haulier based in Meltham, Huddersfield. We deliver and collect loads locally and nationally on behalf of our lovely customers operating a range of vehicles. This is a role to drive one of our articulated trucks🥳🚚🚛
What requirements we would like from you:
✅A clean, full, UK HGV Class 1 drivers licence (no more than 6 points)
✅ A valid and up to date CPC card.
✅ Must be between 25 and 75 years old (for insurance purposes)
✅ Minimum 2 years driving experience.
✅Your own transport to get to and from the yard.
✅Ideally you’d live no more than 20mins from our yard (Meltham, HD9)
✅ Previous experience driving trucks is essential.
✅ Experience in load security is essential (strapping and securing a variety of loads)
✅ ADR qualification is advantageous although not essential if willing to gain it with us.
✅ Excellent geographical knowledge of the UK (if you think Scotland is south of Huddersfield, please don’t waste both our time 😉)
✅You don’t have to be Mark Zuckerberg but an idea on how to use a phone (specifically WhatsApp) is a must.
✅ Great time keeping.
✅ You must be able to use your initiative.
And finally….
✅ A positive, friendly, can-do attitude.
What you’ll receive from us in return is:
🔶Guaranteed minimum 40 hour contract.
🔶£17 per hour up to 40 hours
🔶£18 per hour after 40 hours.
🔶£30 per night out allowance (this job will require some nights out in the truck through the week)
🔶20 days holiday as well as bank holidays off too.
You’ll also get your birthday off each year too totalling 29 days 🥳🤩
🔶A, comfy, clean and well maintained DAF XF to drive.
🔶Company pension (after 3 months)

We’re offering a minimum of £35,360 a year to join our team as a class 1 driver. Our class 1 drivers earn on average around £1000 plus night out money per week nearly every week of the year! We don’t deduct breaks either so you’ll be paid for the entirety of your shift.
However, I won’t sugar coat it. There will be some very early starts, some very late finishes and some hard graft at times. Often maxing your hours.
Mostly it’ll be pallet/bay to bay work but there are the rare jobs which require handball or tail lift. We regularly do big cities such as Glasgow and London and most of the time you’ll just be left alone to get on with your days without constant bother. We also get to see some stunning views in the countryside and during the summer, driving up and down the motorways with your favourite music playing can be bliss☀️🎉
Like any job, it has perks but also challenges too so all I ask is that you really consider this is what you want before applying. If you don’t like being away from home during the week and sleeping in a truck, please don’t apply. This job will require them.
