This doesn't affect Ilkeston, but will it affect stations with ticket offices like Alfreton? The government seem to think everyone is happily connected to the internet all day every day, purchasing etickets online to be scanned by staff with QR readers on board the trains and at station barriers.

Elderly and disabled people are one group that don't necessarily want to be deprived of a physical ticket office, in the same way that many of us (in all age groups) don't want to see our local bank branch go away.

This idea that smartphones can do it all and are the solution is extremely short sighted. How do you buy your tickets presently and will this be an aggravation for you? Most stations have ticket machines but are these enough?
