If you are stuck for things to do for Mothering Sunday why not take the opportunity to head down to the Lavender line for a day of fresh country air, steam and a relaxing lunch in the Cinders buffet, not to mention all Mums with a paying child or adult go free!

Sunday 30th Match will mark the first public steam day of the season of which promises to be the most intense and exciting steam season yet. Austin 1 will be hauling the service train this coming weekend with a chance she may be hauling the newly arrived Royal carriage which arrived 2 weeks ago combined with the railways 108 coach. How about treating Mum to a day out, all Mums go free with a paying child or adult which gives the perfect excuse to enjoy a day out surrounded by beautiful countryside and a cosy rural station.

For just £5.00 on the day you can treat Mum to a round trip on the steam engine riding the footplate with the driver and fireman. Experience what its like to be close to the steam action, watch the fireman shovel coal in a hungry inferno and shadow the driver as he drives 85 tons of steam and steel through the countryside.
