Cases of bluetongue virus (BTV) are rapidly increasing in both sheep and cattle. Clinical signs appear to be more severe than previous years, resulting in high mortality in sheep.

NSA is urging sheep farmers not to be complacent but to follow the lead of growing numbers of farmers and speak to their vets about assessing the risks of BTV-3 in their flocks and taking action to protect animals.

Join AHDB and NSA Chief Executive Phil Stocker to discuss the latest bluetongue situation.

This evening at Holsworthy Market.

Bluetongue Information Evening – free to attend

With confirmed positive cases of Bluetongue now being seen in our region, we understand that many farmers will have questions and concerns about what this means for their livestock.

We will be joined by Vet Liz Nabb BVMS PhD CertAVP MRCVS from APHA, who will provide an update on the current situation and what it may mean for local farms.

Representatives from the Farming Community Network will also be attending to offer additional support.

📅 Thursday 30 July
🕡 6.30pm
📍 Holsworthy Market Café, Kivells

The evening will cover the current Bluetongue situation, vaccination, movement restrictions, biosecurity and practical steps you can take to protect your livestock, followed by an open Q&A session.

The event is free to attend, but places are limited.

To book, call 01237 870456 or email [email protected]

Please share with anyone who may find the evening helpful.

We are incredibly lucky to work with some amazing people... but this post is dedicated to a lovely young lady who enjoyed some well deserved success at the recent Three Counties Show

Alice Newth of the Prestcombe Herd took champion shorthorn with her lovely cow and calf.

I was totally made up for her and the highlight of the day was her dear dad who rang me to tell me!

Our customers are just not that, they are friends too and we love sharing their success.

Well done Alice, next stop Norfolk!

Congratulations to all of our customers for your success at shows over the last few weeks, I will be doing a round up.

The transport of champions, what an honour it is!

Wow what a show Royal Cornwall was.

Again we are the transport of champions!

Congratulations to all our customers on their fantastic success.

Despite the show being cut short which was such a shame, the team transported in and out 7 loads of show cattle and over 1100 shearing sheep.

We were also delighted to sponsor the intermediate shearing competition on the the thursday.

Thank you to the team for a top job as always.

Next stop, Three Counties show!
