I went through a phase of disinterest with this painting mainly due to the layers of foliage and vegetation, but I’ve found a spark again - perhaps it was something to do with all those years spent at Swanage diesel galas (in the beer tent). 😂✍️🎨☀️

After a beautiful trip to Goodrington Sands with my wife and three young children last year, I just felt I had to do something to remember the holiday.

GWR 5239 coasts down the bank into Paignton with a train of happy holidaymakers to the Devon Riviera. The stunning Dartmouth Steam Railway is always worth a visit on a sunny day!

I keep looking at this one on my wall with joy. It reminds me how far I’ve come as an artist over the years. I don’t get much time to paint alongside work and family time, but this painting brings me pure joy. 🥹
