⚡ More electric buses are on the way for Leicester.

Up to £5 million of grant funding is being made available to help bus operators invest in even more zero emission buses and charging infrastructure.

There are already 190 electric buses running across the Leicester Buses network, with another 60 on order. This latest funding could help bring up to 30 more onto our streets as we work towards a fully electric network in 2027. 🚌💚

The new buses will also include improved accessibility features such as additional wheelchair and buggy space, hearing loops and audio-visual next stop announcements.

It’s all part of our One Network plans to make bus travel electric, frequent, reliable, easy and great value.

🚨🚌 Travelling by bus? Check the latest service changes before you travel.

Changes are now in place on services:
29A, 31, 44/44A, 56/56A, 84/85, 127, X3, X6, X45 and X84.

These include revised timetables, changes to some journey times and route updates.

🚌 88% passenger satisfaction in Leicester
The latest Transport Focus survey found that 88% of passengers in Leicester City were satisfied with their bus journey!

Passengers also gave strong ratings for our bus drivers at 89% and journey times at 86%.
It is encouraging to see our passenger satisfaction continuing to improve as Leicester City Council and local bus operators work together through the Leicester Buses Enhanced Partnership to make travelling by bus electric, frequent, reliable, easy and great value.

Good news for concessionary pass holders 🚌

From 24 August, concessionary pass holders can travel free all day on Leicester Park & Ride services.

Whether you’re travelling into the city for shopping, appointments or a day out, Park & Ride offers an easy and convenient way to get around.

The change is supported by UK Government funding.

Our Child and Student Flexi tickets offer simple, great-value travel across participating Leicester Buses operators:
🎒 Child Flexi - under 16: £49 for four weeks or £540 annually
📚 Student Flexi - ages 16+: £68 for four weeks or £575 annually
- The annual Student Flexi is also £37 cheaper than last year’s equivalent ticket.

One ticket gives young people greater choice over the bus they catch, without having to stick to one bus company.
